Where to find your walk-in tub model and serial numbers

Updated September 2026

Your walk-in tub model and serial numbers live in two places. The serial number is on a label behind the magnetic access panel next to the door, on the inside of that removable panel, and it typically begins with the letter M. Your model name, SKU and UPC appear on your product page after selecting options and on your proposal, invoice or order confirmation. Pull the magnetic panel gently away from the frame and you will find the label inside. Support requests, parts orders and warranty activation all go faster when you have these numbers ready.

Why the Serial Number Matters

Your tub serial number is an important piece of information. As the video explains, it is located on the inside of one of the removable panels, and the information it provides allows us to see when the tub was made, who made it, and which replacement parts are compatible should there be any issues. That last part is the key: many parts such as latches, gaskets, touchpads, faucet cartridges, air hoses and control boxes vary by model and production year, and the serial number is how we guarantee the right part ships to you the first time.

How to Find It, Step by Step

  1. Locate the access panel on the tub apron next to the door, on the seat side. It is held in place magnetically on most models; on others the apron panels are held by clips, screws or velcro tape.
  2. Pull the panel gently away from the frame. No tools are needed on a magnetic panel. If it feels tight, work from one corner.
  3. Look for the label just inside the opening, or on the reverse of the large access panel, and note the full serial number. A quick phone photo of the whole label is the easiest way to keep it, and the team reads more than the serial from it.
  4. Replace the panel by setting it against the frame so the magnets catch.

Serial Number or Model Number?

They are different things, and owners often send one when the team asks for the other. The serial number identifies your individual tub and is what the team uses to look up its build and order history. The model number identifies the product; on a Deluxe, for example, it takes a 93xxx or 03xxx form that does not look like a serial. If all you have is the serial, send it; the team can work from it. If you have the original invoice, a photo of it answers both questions at once, including which faucet was ordered. If you are not even sure the tub is an Ella, start with is my tub an Ella?, which shows how the door family and faucet identify the model.

When You Will Be Asked for These Numbers

  • Warranty activation: activate online at ellasbubbles.com/warranty-activation or with the PDF application. If the QR code on the tub is damaged or points to an old address, just open that link. Details are in how do I activate my warranty.
  • Parts orders and warranty claims: include the serial number with your photos and description when you open a ticket; see how to order replacement parts.
  • Finding your documents: with your model identified, every product page has a Downloads tab with the spec sheet, manual, operating and cleaning instructions, and warranty form. The manuals and drawings by model article maps each model to its documents.

Cannot Find the Label?

If the label is missing or unreadable, check your purchase receipt, proposal or invoice for the model details, then contact the team with those purchase details and a photo of the outside of the tub showing the door and faucet. The team can identify most models from that photo, and can look up an order by the purchaser's name. If you moved into a home with an Ella tub and have no paperwork, the photo and any label fragments are enough to get started; is my warranty transferable explains what support a second owner receives.

Common Questions

Where is the serial number on my tub?
The serial number is on a label behind the magnetic access panel next to the door, on the inside of that removable panel. Pull the panel gently away from the frame, and you will find the label just inside the opening or on the reverse of the panel. Some tubs also carry a sticker with the model and serial number on the reverse of the large access panel, so check both if the first is not obvious.
What does an Ella serial number look like?
An Ella serial number usually begins with the letter M followed by digits. It identifies your individual tub and tells the team when it was made, who built it, and which replacement parts are compatible. Photograph the whole label rather than copying one line, since the team reads the build details from the rest of the label as well.
How do I remove the magnetic access panel?
Pull it gently away from the frame. On most models the panel is held in place magnetically, so no tools are needed; if it feels tight, work from one corner. On some models the apron panels are held by clips, screws or velcro tape instead, so look at the edges before pulling. When you are done, set the panel back against the frame so the magnets catch.
I have a serial number but the team asked for a model number. What is the difference?
The serial number identifies your specific tub and its build, and it is what the team uses to look up order history and compatible parts. The model number identifies the product itself; on a Deluxe, for example, it takes a 93xxx or 03xxx form that does not look like a serial. If you only have one of them, send it along with a photo of the outside of the tub showing the door and faucet, and the team will fill in the rest. A photo of your original invoice answers both questions at once.
The QR code on the label does not work. How do I register?
Open ellasbubbles.com/warranty-activation/ directly in your browser and complete the form there, or use the PDF application if you prefer. The older register link printed on some labels no longer works, so a QR code that fails or points to an old address is expected. Have your serial number, sales receipt and installer's details ready, and our article on activating your warranty walks through the rest.
Can you identify my tub from a photo?
Usually, yes. A photo of the outside of the tub showing the door and the faucet is enough in most cases, because the door family narrows it to a few models and the faucet and controls do the rest. Include any label fragments or purchase paperwork you have, and the team can also look up an order by the purchaser's name. See which door does my Ella tub have? for the door families.
I moved into a house with an Ella tub and have no paperwork.
Send the serial number from the label behind the access panel, or a photo of the outside of the tub showing the door and faucet if the label is gone, and the team will identify the model and help you get set up. Lifetime technical support covers every Ella tub, and replacement parts are available to any owner, although the warranty itself is not transferable to a second owner. Our article on is my warranty transferable explains what support a second owner receives.
Which documents do I need for warranty activation?
You will need your serial number, a copy of your sales receipt and your installer's details on the two-page activation form, which is signed by both the customer and the installer. If you installed the tub yourself, enter your own information in the installer section. Activate online at ellasbubbles.com/warranty-activation/ or with the PDF application, and if the form asks for the model name, it is on your product page, proposal, invoice or order confirmation.
