Every clearance tub is one specific unit identified by its serial number, and the team can read back exactly what that serial includes before you commit: the model and family, exterior length and width, door swing and which hand it is, seat width, the therapy systems fitted, the faucet, grab bars, drain configuration and the warranty terms that apply to that unit. Ask for the spec sheet, the written list of what is included and the listing video for that serial so you and your installer are looking at the same tub you are ordering.

Why the Serial Number Matters More Than the Model Name

On a new order you choose the options. On a clearance unit the options were already built in, so two tubs that share a model name can be quite different. Several Monaco units on the same page can each carry a different therapy package or door hand, which is why the team sends a written list of what each serial includes rather than describing the model in general. One 30 by 52 inch Standard on the clearance page had hydro massage only, with 18 hydro jets, an inline heater, an intensity control dial, the five-piece faucet and a single 2 inch drain, while an earlier unit the same caller looked at had both hydro and air massage. A 26 by 52 inch outward swing unit listed at the same time had a right-hand door, a 19 inch wide seat, hydro and air massage and ozone sterilization, which runs with the hydro system. Door Hand and Drain Side

Listings and the team describe each unit as right-hand or left-hand. That is the side the door is on as you face the tub. The tub drains are on the opposite side from the door, so a right-hand door tub drains on the left and a left-hand door tub drains on the right. Tell the team which side your existing drain is on and whether you need an inward or outward swing, and they will confirm the hand you need. Clearance stock is fixed, so if the only unit in your size is the wrong hand, the team can point you to the closest alternative or a new order. A single-drain unit also drains more slowly than a dual-drain unit, so ask which drain configuration the serial carries.

What Is in the Photo May Not Be in the Box

Listing photos sometimes show a tub with an accessory that is not part of that unit, such as a glass shower screen. The team confirms what ships with the serial and can add the accessory to your order if you want it. Ask specifically about the faucet, grab bars, extension panel and screen so nothing is assumed.

Condition, Testing and Warranty

Clearance units are tested before they are listed, and the listing notes the condition, such as a scratch on the top deck behind the backrest on one Standard unit that was otherwise in full working order. The warranty on a clearance unit can differ from the warranty on a new tub, so ask the team to confirm the terms that apply to your serial before you order. Checking Fit for the Unit You Want

Because you cannot change the size, measure first. Compare the unit's exterior length and width to your finished opening, and compare its width to your doorways. 2. Call (800) 480-6850 or open a ticket with the serial and ask the team to read back the model, dimensions, door hand, therapies, faucet, grab bars, drains and warranty terms.
3. Ask whether anything shown in the photo, such as a glass screen, is included.
4. Request the spec sheet, the written list of inclusions and the listing video for that serial and share them with your installer.
5. Confirm your drain side and opening measurements, then place your order with your Ella dealer or the team.
