Is my walk-in tub warranty transferable if I move or sell my home?

Updated September 2026

Is your walk-in tub warranty transferable? No. The Ella's Bubbles Lifetime Limited Warranty is extended to the first purchaser only, and it stays with both the original owner and the original installation address. It is nontransferable, so if the ownership changes or the tub is relocated to a different address, the warranty becomes void. What does continue for every Ella tub, whoever owns it, is free lifetime technical support and access to replacement parts. If you are planning a move or a home sale and want to talk through your options, we are always happy to help you think it through.

The Three Conditions That Keep Coverage in Place

  1. Same owner. Coverage belongs to the first purchaser. It does not pass to a new homeowner, a family member who takes over the house, or a buyer of a used tub.
  2. Same address. The warranty applies only to the original installation place. Moving the tub to another home, another unit, or even another location on the same property that changes the installation address voids coverage.
  3. Original condition. Coverage does not extend to products previously used as display models, or to products that have been modified or repaired by anyone other than Ella's Bubbles.

What a Second Owner Still Receives

Even though the warranty itself cannot travel with the tub, a new owner is never on their own. Free lifetime technical support by phone, email and live video is available for every Ella tub, replacement parts including door seals are matched to the serial number, and the manuals, cleaning instructions, specifications and how-to videos remain available for every model on the Downloads tab of its product page. The first-week guide for second owners walks a new homeowner through identifying the model, finding the serial number and checking the tub before the first bath.

Watch: The Serial Number a New Owner Needs

Ella's Bubbles: Serial Number Location

Whether you are the first purchaser checking your coverage or a new homeowner asking about parts, the serial number is what the team works from. This short video shows it on the label inside one of the removable panels next to the door, and explains that it tells Ella when the tub was made, who built it and which replacement parts are compatible. Photograph it and include it on any ticket. Watch: Ella's Bubbles: Serial Number Location with a full transcript.

Planning a Move? Talk to Us First

If you are weighing whether to leave the tub with the home or take it along, reach out before the move and we will walk you through what each choice means in practice. Relocating the tub voids the warranty, and moving a tub also means removing all panels and aprons first and re-leveling every leg at the new location; leveling your walk-in tub explains why that step protects the door seal.

A Note About Dealer Promises

Ella's Bubbles reserves the sole authority to make warranties or representations concerning its products, and is not responsible for warranties or representations made by any outside source, including dealers, retailers, distributors, or contractors. If a seller told you the warranty would transfer, that promise does not bind Ella's Bubbles, so please check with us directly before relying on it. Common Questions

I received an uninstalled tub as a gift. Is it covered?
Yes, an uninstalled Ella's Bubbles walk-in tub received as a gift is covered once it is installed and the activation form is submitted in the new owner's name at the installation address. The Lifetime Limited Warranty is extended to the first purchaser only, and it stays with both the original owner and the original installation address.
I bought a house with an Ella tub. Is it still under warranty?
No, if you bought a house with an Ella's Bubbles walk-in tub, the Lifetime Limited Warranty is void because ownership has changed. The warranty belongs to the first purchaser only and does not pass to a new homeowner. However, you still receive free lifetime technical support by phone, email, and live video, and you can obtain replacement parts, including door seals, matched to the tub's serial number. To get set up, open a support ticket with the serial number and the team will assist you.
Can I take the tub with me when I move?
You can take your Ella's Bubbles walk-in tub with you when you move, but the Lifetime Limited Warranty applies only to the original installation address, so it will not carry over to the new home. Relocating the tub voids the warranty. Moving a tub also requires removing all panels and aprons first and re-leveling every leg at the new location to protect the door seal. It is recommended to talk to the Ella's Bubbles team before the move to understand what each choice means in practice.
Can I transfer the warranty to my child or a family member who takes over the house?
No, you cannot transfer the Ella's Bubbles Lifetime Limited Warranty to your child or a family member who takes over the house. Coverage belongs to the first purchaser only and does not pass to a family member or new homeowner. The warranty stays with both the original owner and the original installation address, and it becomes void if ownership changes.
Does the warranty transfer if I bought the tub used?
No, the Ella's Bubbles Lifetime Limited Warranty does not transfer if you bought the walk-in tub used. A secondhand tub is not covered because the warranty applies only to the first purchaser. However, free lifetime technical support by phone, email, and live video remains available for every Ella tub, and replacement parts, including door seals, can be obtained by matching them to the tub's serial number.
How do I find out whether the tub in my new home ever had its warranty activated?
To find out whether the Ella's Bubbles walk-in tub in your new home ever had its warranty activated, you should open a support ticket with the tub's serial number and the installation address. The Ella's Bubbles team can then see what is on file and explain what applies to you as a second owner. The serial number, found on a label inside one of the removable panels next to the door, tells Ella's Bubbles when the tub was made, who built it, and which replacement parts are compatible.
Is a former display model covered?
No, a former display model Ella's Bubbles walk-in tub is not covered by the Lifetime Limited Warranty. Coverage does not extend to products previously used as display models. The warranty also does not cover products that have been modified or repaired by anyone other than Ella's Bubbles.
