Your model number is on your proposal or invoice, your serial number is on the label behind the large magnetic access panel next to the door, and your jetting configuration is listed on that same invoice and on the packing slip that shipped with the tub. For a replacement part, the support team needs the serial number, a description of the problem and photos of the failed part, and it identifies the correct replacement from those. Can I Get an Electrical Diagram or Parts List for My Tub? explains why the therapy package, not the model name alone, decides which diagram and parts apply to your tub.
Three Numbers, and What Each One Tells the Team
Owners often mix these up, and each does a different job when a part is being matched.
- The model number, sometimes called the SKU, identifies the model and configuration: the tub style, size, therapy package and door side. It is shared by every tub built in that configuration, and it appears on your proposal or invoice.
- The serial number is unique to your tub. It tells Ella when the tub was made, who built it and which replacement parts are compatible, and the factory's quality-control records are kept by serial number, so it is the number the support team asks for on every request.
- The therapy package, such as hydro massage, air massage, microbubbles or a combination, sets the pumps, heater and controls on the tub. Every jetting configuration has its own electrical requirements, so the electrical diagram and many parts are specific to the package rather than to the model name.
Finding the Model Number
Look at your proposal or invoice first. The digits and letters describe the tub family, its footprint, the door side and the faucet that shipped in the crate. LA3060, for example, is the LayDown tub in the 30 by 60 inch size. On website listings the door side is written as a digit, where 7 means a left-hand door and 8 means a right-hand door, and 5P means the 5-piece fast-fill faucet is included. Dealer portal and invoice codes write the same information with letters, such as L or R at the end for the door side, and an S in a LayDown item code marks the soaking configuration. Both forms point at the same product, and the dealer portal model numbers are the ones to reference on a purchase order. Door side is always described as you face the tub. What the Digits and Letters in an Ella Model Number Mean decodes the rest.
A footprint alone does not name the tub, because several models share the same outside dimensions. If your only paperwork is a size, the serial number is what lets the team identify the model.
Finding the Serial Number
- Locate the large access panel on the front of the tub next to the door. It is held on by magnets, so pull it straight off; no tools are needed. On stainless steel door models the label is behind the large access panel on the seat side. If a panel feels tight, work from a corner; other aprons use clips, screws or hook and loop tape.
- Look on the inside face of the panel and just inside the opening for the serial tag. Photograph the entire label rather than copying one number, so the team can read every code on it.
- Read the tag. It carries two sets of numbers: the first set is the manufacture date of the tub, and the second set is the unit's own serial number. Serial formats vary, and some begin with a letter such as M, so copy it exactly as printed. A five digit number like 93117 from your invoice is a model reference, not the serial.
- If the tag is hard to read or the panel side is closed in by cabinetry, check the back wall side of the tub shell, where the serial number is repeated. If neither spot can be reached, the shipment confirmation and tracking message sent when the tub left the warehouse lists the serial number for the unit.
The short video shows the panel coming off and the label inside it. Where to Find the Serial Number on Your Ella Walk-In Tub covers the tag in more detail, and Where Do I Find the Serial Number on My Walk-In Tub? walks through it panel by panel and lists the common reasons the label seems to be missing.
Identifying Your Jetting Configuration
Your invoice or proposal lists the therapy package, and the packing slip that traveled with your order lists every installed option. Those two documents are the authority. The label on the shipping crate is not, because it shows only the base therapy system, such as Air + Hydro or Air + Hydro + Hydro Foot. Microbubble is an accessory installed on the tub before it ships, and Ella does not print it on the crate label, so a crate marked Air + Hydro can hold a tub built with air, hydro and microbubble. The Crate Label Does Not List the Microbubble Option I Ordered explains how to confirm what you received.
Once you know the package, the Therapy Options tab on your model's page at ellasbubbles.com holds the electrical diagram for each configuration, and the download tab holds the user manual and specification sheet. If you found a diagram elsewhere and are not sure it matches your tub, send it to the team and they will confirm whether it is accurate for your configuration. What the team does not have is a factory wiring diagram for the inside of the tub; internal wiring is done by the assemblers, and the published diagram covers what an installer needs on site.
Ordering the Right Part
If you are gathering these numbers because something has failed, the quickest route is a ticket with everything the team needs in one place.
- Describe the problem in plain words: what the part does, what it stopped doing and when it started.
- Photograph the failed part and the whole serial label.
- Include your model name, the door side, the serial number, where you purchased and the therapy package from your invoice.
- Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850.
The team identifies the correct replacement from the photos and ships it under the parts warranty. Ella does not send technicians, so a local licensed plumber or electrician does the installation, and the team supports them with the diagram, manual and spec sheet. If the label is gone or unreadable, do not worry: the team finds your order, item number, serial and ship date from the purchaser's name, email or shipping address, and dealer purchases can be identified from the dealer's records.
