Where to Find the Serial Number on Your Ella Walk-In Tub

The serial number of an Ella walk-in tub is on the label behind the large magnetic access panel, the panel next to the door. A second copy of the serial number is on the back wall side of the tub shell. The serial number is also included in the shipping and tracking information sent when the tub leaves the warehouse, so it may already be in your order emails or your installer's paperwork. Keep it with your sales receipt, because both are needed to activate the warranty and to file any warranty claim.

Where to Look

  1. Locate the large access panel on the front of the tub next to the door. It is held on by magnets, so pull it straight off; no tools are needed.
  2. Look on the inside of that panel area for the serial number tag.
  3. If the tag is hard to read or the panel side is closed in by cabinetry, check the back wall side of the tub, where the serial number is repeated.
  4. If the tub is fully enclosed and neither spot can be reached, look at the shipment confirmation and tracking message from when the tub shipped, which lists the serial number for the unit.

Reading the Serial Tag

The tag carries two sets of numbers. The first set is the manufacture date of the tub, and the second set is the unit's own serial number. Every tub has its own serial number, and the factory's quality-control records are kept by serial number, so it is the number the support team asks for on every request. Serial formats vary, and some begin with a letter, so copy the serial number exactly as printed.

Serial Number Versus Model Number

The serial number and the model number are different things and are often confused. The model number, sometimes called the SKU, identifies the model and configuration, for example the tub style, size, therapy package, and door side, and it is shared by every tub built in that configuration. The serial number is unique to your tub. Your model number appears on your proposal or invoice. The warranty activation form asks for both, along with the purchase date; see what the warranty activation form is.

If You Cannot Find It at All

When a contractor or dealer placed the order for you, the details may never have been handed over. The support team can look up the model number, serial number, and purchase date from the order record. Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850 and give the name the order was placed under, the installation address, and the approximate purchase date. Dealers who register on behalf of a customer should follow activating the warranty in your customer's name.

What the Serial Number Is Used for

Warranty activation requires the completed form, signed by you and your installer, together with a copy of the sales receipt; the steps are in how to activate your warranty. A warranty claim requires the serial number, photos of the part, and a description of the problem, and coverage is confirmed by the team; see is this covered under my warranty. The serial number is also how the team matches replacement parts such as a door to the exact tub; see ordering a complete replacement door.

Common Questions

Where exactly is the serial number tag located?
It is behind the large magnetic access panel next to the door. Pull the panel off and look inside the opening for the tag. The serial number is also repeated on the back wall side of the tub.
Is the serial number the same as the SKU?
No. The SKU is the model number and describes the configuration, which many tubs share. The serial number is unique to your tub and is the number the support team needs for warranty and parts requests.
What do the numbers on the tag mean?
The first set of numbers is the manufacture date. The second set is the unit's serial number. Copy the serial number exactly as printed when you fill in the warranty form.
My contractor bought the tub, so how do I get the details?
Ask your contractor first, since the serial number was sent with the shipping information. If that is not available, open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support with the purchaser's name, the installation address, and the approximate purchase date, and the team looks it up.
Do I need the serial number to activate the warranty?
Yes. The activation form asks for the model number, serial number, and purchase date, and must be returned with a copy of the sales receipt. Activation is what puts the warranty in force, so gather these details soon after installation.
