If the Tub Moves: What Still Applies

Uninstall and Carry Rules

  • u2610 Drain the tub completely and dry it
  • u2610 Have a licensed electrician disconnect the equipment from its dedicated GFCI circuit and a licensed plumber disconnect the supply lines and drain
  • u2610 Remove the front apron, every access panel and both end panels before the tub is moved or carried
  • u2610 Lift and carry only by the frame, never by the plumbing, faucet, door or any other part

Packing the Small Parts and Documents

Common Questions

Does my warranty survive if I take the tub to my new house?
No, your Lifetime Limited Warranty does not survive if you take the tub to your new house. The warranty is extended to the first purchaser at the original installation address and is void when the tub's location changes. However, free lifetime technical support and access to replacement parts continue for you at your new home, matched to your tub's serial number.
Can I move the tub myself without a plumber or electrician?
Use a licensed plumber for the water and drain connections and a licensed electrician for the GFCI circuit, at both ends of the move. Once everything is disconnected, the tub is carried by the frame with all panels removed.
Why do the panels have to come off before carrying?
The manual's rule is that the front apron, access panels and end panels come off before the tub is moved or carried, and that the lift is by the frame only, never by the plumbing or any other part. The panels are not there to take the load.
Do I really need the water test again at the new house?
Yes, you really need to run the pre-installation water test again at the new house. Vibration during transit can loosen fittings, and the water test helps find any drips while the connections are still easy to reach. You should recheck the air, hydro, and electrical connections and run the full water test before any wall is closed.
