If you bought a house with an Ella tub and have no information, start with the serial label on the inside of a removable panel on the tub apron. That label identifies the model and build, and once you send it to the team they can send you the right manual. The first thing to do before your first bath is the vinegar flush, and the first thing to check on coverage is that the published warranty is extended to the first purchaser at the original installation address, so a later owner has parts and lifetime tech support but generally not warranty coverage. Our second owner guide is written for exactly your first week.
Likely Causes
- No manual, invoice or paperwork left by the previous owner, so the model is unknown.
- Uncertainty about whether the tub is an Ella at all, especially when the brand mark is hidden.
- Assuming the warranty travels with the house, when the published terms are nontransferable.
- A tub that sat unused for months, so the jet system needs a flush before bathing.
What to Check, in Order
- Confirm the brand and model. Look for the Ella mark on the door and check the door style against our guide to identifying the brand and model.
- Find the serial. Pull the removable panel next to the door gently away from the frame, turn it over and photograph the label; the serial starts with M. Our guide to finding model and serial numbers shows each panel.
- Send that photo to the team and ask for the manual for your model.
- Run the first use flush before bathing: combine 2 cups of white vinegar with 2 cups of water, fill the tub to 1 inch above the highest jets, add the mixture, run the tub for 10 minutes and drain.
- Read warranty transfer and ownership. The warranty is extended to the first purchaser and tied to the original installation address, so buying the house does not transfer it. A tub a family member bought and gave to you stays covered when the warranty was registered as the form requires; tell the team the details and they confirm what applies. A used tub from a private seller still gets parts, paid for by the owner, along with free lifetime tech support.
When to Open a Ticket
Open a ticket once you have a photo of the serial label, photos of the tub and door, the installation address and, if known, who purchased it. If the door leaks, add a short video of the leak with the tub filled to the seat. Reach your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 or ellasbubbles.com/support and they will identify the tub, send the manual and explain which parts and coverage apply.
