This page walks through the printed owner's manual that comes with the Ella Standard, Zen and Flow walk-in tubs, section by section, and points out the printed lines that have since been corrected. It covers the Standard Acrylic Walk In Bathtub Owners Manual (24 numbered pages plus covers, dated 3/22/23), the ZEN manual (same date and page count) and the Ella Flow 28x48 manual (24 pages, dated 6/13/23). Keep the current manual for your model close by as you read.

Three Covers, Two Documents

The Standard and Zen manuals are one document behind two covers: every interior page of the Zen manual is identical to the Standard manual, and only the cover changes. The interior refers to the platform as "Ella Economy," the shared single-drain acrylic platform the Standard and Zen are built on. The Flow has its own manual for the 28x48 tub, with the same structure and a few Flow-specific details noted below.

Section Map of the 24 Numbered Pages

The manual runs in this order, and the Flow manual follows the same sequence:

1. Warranty activation notice, pointing to the two-page Warranty Activation Form (its pages 26 and 27).
2. Unpacking and moving: record any damage on the driver's delivery document, keep the packaging, remove the panels and carry the tub by the frame only.
3. Safety: licensed trades, a dedicated GFCI-protected circuit, no electric appliances within 3 feet, a warning that water above 100.4 F may be harmful, and the barrel extension hose rule for a wall-mounted hand shower.
4. Required steps prior to installation: the GFCI test and the water test before the tub goes into the wall (fill 3 inches above the highest jet, 30 minutes standing, 30 minutes running).
5. Drain installation: the 2 inch T-type floor drain body, above-floor or below-floor routing.
6. Door and frame adjustments: leveling legs, no gap under any leg, door-closing check.
7. Service access and door seal care.
8. Reversible extension kit and side panel cutting adjustment.
9. Finishing to the wall with an after-market tile flange.
10. Operations, cleaning, warranty terms and the activation form.

Operations Pages: S-Shape Door, One Drain Opener, Faucet, Hydro Push Button and Dial

The entering page tells you the handle is inside the tub: step in, remain standing, close the door, then sit, and never open the door until the tub is completely drained. The top-view diagram is titled "Standard S-Shape Inward-Swing Door with Hydro Massage Option" and carries these labels:

Filling and draining: turn the drain handle clockwise to open and counter-clockwise to close, and do not fill above the center of the drain handle. The Standard and Zen faucet page covers the 5-piece faucet: set the red or blue handle, then turn the diverter (middle lever) toward "OFF" and push down the faucet lever for the pull-out hand shower. The Flow manual instead covers the 2-piece faucet: lift the lever for on, left for hot, right for cold, and press the diverter button under the spout for the hand shower. The hydrotherapy page is the only therapy page, because these are hydro-massage tubs; there are no air massage or microbubble pages. The in-line water heater runs with the hydro pump and maintains the water temperature rather than raising it. Door guidance lives in how the inward acrylic door works.

The Heated Seat Page Stamped Optional

The Heated Seat and Back page stays in the manual but is stamped "Optional not included." If your order includes it, press the digital control on the front face once for on and once more for off, switch it on 10 to 15 minutes before you get in, and it shuts itself off after 20 minutes. The Flow manual prints the same instructions.

Cleaning Pages

Before first use, and then once a month, flush the pump circulation: mix 2 cups white vinegar with 2 cups water, fill the tub to one inch above the highest jets, add the mixture, run the jets for 10 minutes, then drain. Monthly, also clear hair and debris from the pump inlet cover. The printed approved cleaners are dishwashing detergent, Lysol Power Bathroom Cleaner, CLR Bath and Kitchen Cleaner, Formula 409 All-Purpose and Iron Out Rust Stain Remover. No abrasive cleaners and no bath bombs.

Warranty and Activation Pages

The warranty pages print lifetime limited coverage on the shell, frame, door, door seal and finish, and a limited five-year term on supporting equipment such as motors, pumps, controls and the faucet. That five-year line is outdated; see below. The activation pages ask the owner and the installer to complete and sign the two-page form, with an installer checklist: tub level with all legs touching, dedicated GFCI circuit, door seal wiped with rubbing alcohol, seal watertight after a 20-minute fill, pumps run 20 minutes, and service access left in place.
