This page walks through the owner's manual for the Ella two-seat family: the Tub4Two, Companion, Escape and Big4Two. It is based on the 28-page "two-seat" owner's manual dated 6/15/23, with a few feature details confirmed from the two-seat brochure, and it flags the printed lines that our current published documents have since corrected. For a side-by-side look at the four models, see the two-seat tub comparison.
What the Manual Covers and Which Door Your Model Has
| Model | Size | Seat sizes |
|---|---|---|
| Tub4Two | 32" x 60" | 20" and 22" |
| Companion | 32" x 60" | 23" and 25" |
| Escape | 36" x 72" | 27" and 29" |
| Big4Two | 36" x 80" | 22" and 24" |
The family supports both door styles, and the manual's entry text simply says the handle is on the inside of the tub. To be specific: the Tub4Two and Big4Two use an outward-swinging U-shape door with a tempered glass panel in a composite frame and a 3-latch gear-and-shaft latch system, while the Companion and Escape use the inward stainless steel door. Door guidance is in how the outward-swing U-shape door works and using your stainless steel inward-swing door.

Moving Instructions Unique to Two-Seat Tubs
The two-seat manual adds a line the single-seat manuals do not have: "Remove all access panels and toe kick plates if applicable before carrying the tub to prevent them from falling out and breaking." Lift and carry only by the frame, never by the plumbing, and keep the bottom clear of bumps since air jets sit underneath and can break off. The general routine is in delivery day inspection and moving.
Operations: Entering, Two Drain Openers, Dual Spout, the Hydro Foot Control
Enter standing, close the door, then sit. Never open the door until the tub is completely drained. The manual's diagram is captioned "Big4Two U-Shape Outward-Swing Door Walk-In Bathtub with Air + Hydro + Hydro Foot Massage Option." Its labels tell you what is different about a two-seater: two 2" drain openers, a DUAL spout, two LED chromatherapy lights, bidet air massage jets, foot hydro jets for each seat, the pull-out adjustable hand mixer, and three switches instead of two: Hydro Jets on/off, Air Jets on/off and a separate Hydro Foot on/off control, alongside the hydro intensity dial. The brochure confirms 4 foot hydro jets at each seat.
Drain handles turn clockwise to open and counter-clockwise to close; do not fill above the center of the drain handle. The manual highlights the 2-piece fast-fill faucet: lift the lever for water, turn left for hot and right for cold, press the diverter button under the spout to switch to the hand shower, and push the lever down to turn off. The hand shower dial has 5 flow settings. If one seat's jets behave differently from the other's, see two-seat tub, one side not working.
Digital Controller on Two-Seat Tubs
The brochure describes a Digital Push Control that handles hydro massage on/off, 3-speed air massage, LED light control and the hydro foot jets on/off, paired with the hydro intensity dial. The manual's generic control pages also show the labeled push buttons (Water, Light, Air, Micro) and the digital icons (water streams, bubble with + and -, lightbulb). Whichever you have, the LED light works the same way: press once for changing lights, keep pressing to lock one of 8 solid colors, press and hold to turn off. The heated seat option, where fitted, needs 10 to 15 minutes of preheat and shuts off after 20 minutes. Compare the two control types in push controls vs. the digital touchpad.
Printed Lines That Have Since Been Corrected
- Auto Purge timing. The manual prints "20 minutes after the pump has been turned on." The published figure is that about 20 minutes after you turn the air massage pump off, the Auto Purge starts automatically and runs for 120 seconds to blow leftover water out of the air lines. It cannot be interrupted and you do not need to leave the tub.
- Air speed order. The manual prints low, medium, high. The published order is once for high, twice for medium, three times for low, and a fourth press to turn off.
- Equipment warranty. The warranty page prints a five-year term on supporting equipment. The current warranty is Lifetime Limited on all supporting equipment as well as the shell, frame, door, seal and finish.
Cleaning and Warranty Pages
Flush before first use and monthly: 2 cups white vinegar with 2 cups water, fill to one inch above the highest jets, run the jets 10 minutes, drain. Clean the pump inlet cover at the same time, use the approved cleaners in the manual and avoid abrasives and bath bombs. The warranty pages give the thermostatic control valve a 1-year limited term and close with the two-page Warranty Activation Form. Complete and sign both, include a copy of your receipt and the electrician's license and insurance information, and submit it online at ellasbubbles.com/warranty-activation/ or by mail; it can be completed now if it was missed at installation.
