This page walks you through the printed owner's manual that ships with the stainless steel inward-swing door family: the Ella Elite, Petite, Royal, Deluxe and Ultimate. It is based on the 28-page "stainless-steel-door" owner's manual dated 6/15/23 and flags the printed lines our current published documents have since corrected. If your tub is a different family, start at manuals, spec sheets and drawings by model to find the right document.
Which Manual You Have and What It Covers
The cover table lists five models. The manual is about 90 percent identical to the Ella Ultra manual, plus family-specific sections such as the deck mount grab bar installation and a reversible extension kit table for the Deluxe, Elite, Royal and Petite.
| Model | Size | Seat size |
|---|---|---|
| Ultimate | 30"W x 60"L | 21" |
| Deluxe | 30"W x 55"L | 21" |
| Royal | 32"W x 52"L | 24" |
| Elite | 30"W x 52"L | 22" |
| Petite | 28"W x 52"L | 19" |
One note on the Petite: the cover prints 28"W and the extension-kit table prints 27"W. Per the current spec sheet the actual width is 27.5" (28" x 52" nominal, 27.5" x 52" x 35" actual). Use 27.5" for any fit decision and treat the 27" line as a misprint.
Section Map
- Unpacking. Inspect the crate, photograph any damage and have the driver note it on the delivery document. Remove the apron, end panel and all four access panels, then carry by the frame only.
- Safety. Licensed plumber and electrician, no appliances within 3 feet, never run hydro jets below the waterline, and a 100.4 F temperature caution.
- Pre-installation. A dedicated GFCI circuit and the pre-installation water test: seal the drains, fill 3 inches above the highest jet, stand 30 minutes, run everything 30 minutes.
- Drains. The Ella 2" T-Type dual port floor drain, four ports and two caps, Y fitting preferred; cutting the apron for a below-floor drain voids coverage on the cut parts.
- Leveling. Every leg must carry equal weight or the door seal leaks; see the leveling guide.
- Service access and door seal. No insulation around the equipment; relax a shipping-stuck seal with the door open.
- Deck mount grab bar. The large metal washer under the shell is mandatory or the acrylic can crack.
- Reversible extension kit. Parts list and five steps; see extension panels and filler kits by model.
- Wall finishing. A tile-flange strip about 5" tall glued with 100 percent silicone, overlapping the tub edge by 2".
- Operations, cleaning, warranty and the activation form. Covered below.

Operations Pages
Door. The handle is on the inside of the tub. Step in, stay standing, close the door, then sit. Never open the door until the tub is completely drained. Full handle guidance is in using your stainless steel inward-swing door.
Drains. Two 2" drain openers. Turn a handle clockwise to open and counter-clockwise to close, and do not fill above the center of the drain handle.
Two faucets. On the 2-piece fast-fill faucet, lift the lever, turn left for hot and right for cold, push the diverter button under the spout for the hand shower, and push the lever down to turn off. On the 5-piece faucet, the hot handle is red and the cold blue; turn the middle diverter lever toward "OFF" and push the faucet lever down for the pull-out hand shower. Each hand shower dial has 5 flow settings.
Controls. The push-control panel has the hydro intensity dial and buttons labeled Water, Light, Air and Micro. Digital units use a water-streams icon, a bubble icon with + and -, and a lightbulb icon. Learn the differences in push controls vs. the digital touchpad.
Chromatherapy. Press once for continuously changing lights, keep pressing to lock one of 8 solid colors, and press and hold to turn the light off.
Hydro, air and microbubble. The intensity dial adjusts pressure; the in-line heater and ozone switch on and off with the hydro pump, and the heater maintains temperature rather than heating cold water. The Air button cycles three speeds and the Micro button runs the Infusion Microbubble pump.
Heated seat and back. Press the control on the front face once. Turn it on 10 to 15 minutes before you get in; it shuts off automatically after 20 minutes.
Four Printed Lines That Have Since Been Corrected
- Petite width. The extension-kit table prints 27"W; the actual width is 27.5" per the current spec sheet.
- Auto-purge timing. The manual says the purge starts 20 minutes after the pump is turned on. The published figure is that about 20 minutes after you turn the air massage pump off, the Auto Purge starts automatically and runs for 120 seconds to blow leftover water out of the air lines. It cannot be interrupted and you do not need to leave the tub. See the auto-purge air system explained.
- Air speed order. The manual prints one press low, two medium, three high. The published order is: press the Air button once for high speed, twice for medium, three times for low, and a fourth time to turn the air massage off.
- Warranty term on equipment. The warranty page prints a limited five-year term on supporting equipment. The current warranty is Lifetime Limited on the shell, frame, door, seal and finish and on all supporting equipment. See why older manuals say five years.
Cleaning and Maintenance Pages
Before the first bath and monthly after that: mix 2 cups white vinegar with 2 cups water, fill to one inch above the highest jets, run the jets 10 minutes, drain, and clear the pump inlet cover of hair. Use the manual's approved cleaners and skip abrasives and bath bombs. Our full routine is in cleaning and monthly maintenance.
The Warranty Pages and the Activation Form
Apart from the five-year equipment line noted above, the warranty pages note that the door holds only its own weight and give the thermostatic control valve a 1-year limited term. The final two pages are the Warranty Activation Form, one page for you and one for your installer. Complete and sign both, include a copy of your receipt and the electrician's license and insurance information, and submit it online at ellasbubbles.com/warranty-activation/ or by mail. If it was missed at installation you can complete it now; see activate your warranty.
