Ella Shower Kits and Bases: Multi-Piece Showers, Roll-In Bases, and Cultured Marble

Updated September 2026

Ella shower kits and bases cover the accessible shower side of the Ella's Bubbles line: low-threshold multi-piece showers, barrier-free roll-in shower bases and pans that ship with a collapsible rubber dam, one-piece and three-piece AcrylX shower stalls, SMC low profile bases, custom-size acrylic bases, and the wall surrounds that finish them. Cultured marble bases and panels were offered in the past and have been on hold. Complete shower kits are offered through retail partners such as Home Depot, while bases, the dam, and wall systems are available through your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850. This overview explains what each product is, who installs it, where the documents live, and how the 30-year shower base warranty works.

The Products

  • Low-threshold 3-piece and barrier-free 5-piece showers: a modular pan and wall panels with a pin-and-slot system that lets the installer set every panel from the front without rear access. The step by step is in installing Ella shower bases, the flexible dam and shower walls.
  • One-piece and three-piece AcrylX shower stalls: fiberglass with the AcrylX applied acrylic finish and Armorcore reinforced walls, in several sizes with or without a molded seat. One-piece stalls are molded as a single unit, so they suit new construction; three-piece kits pass through finished doorways for remodels. The one-piece versus three-piece comparison has every printed dimension and weight.
  • Roll-in and barrier-free bases and pans: acrylic sheet over a reinforced core with a textured slip-resistant floor, in many rectangular sizes with left, right or center drains. They ship with the self-adhesive collapsible rubber dam; clean the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol first and caulk the grout line under the dam.
  • SMC low profile bases: the 1 inch reversible linear-drain base and the barrier-free ADA pan, each with its own installation guide in this knowledge base.
  • Custom-size acrylic bases: made to your rough opening within published size ranges, with a 4 inch low threshold and textured floor. The custom-size shower base article lists the ranges and drain placement rules.
  • Cultured marble reversible bases: solid cultured marble with a gel-coat finish and ADA textured floor in three sizes, heavy enough to need two people. Cultured marble kits have been on hold with no restock date, so check availability before planning around one.
  • Wall systems: acrylic 3-panel kits, the SMC 12-piece subway kit and grout-free PVC tiles, described in wall panels and surrounds.

Where the Shower Products Are Available

One-piece and multi-piece shower kits, for example the Liberty, Freedom and Accessible Plus packages, are offered through retail partners such as Home Depot and are made to order. If you bought a kit through a retailer, the retailer handles the order, delivery and any return, and the Ella's Bubbles team handles technical questions, parts and warranty; the article on retailer purchased tubs and showers explains that split. Shower bases, the rubber dam, SMC pans and wall surrounds are available through your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850, who can also confirm current sizes, open-box units and what fits your rough opening. Shower products are white only; a bone-colored kit model number that has appeared at a retailer is not one Ella's Bubbles stocks.

Who Installs It

Ella's Bubbles does not install; a licensed contractor, plumber or remodeler sets the base, connects the drain and hangs the walls, with the technical support team available by phone and video at every step. If you are weighing a shower against a walk-in tub for mobility or a caregiver, walk-in tub or low-threshold shower compares the two, and the team can help you find a contractor in your area.

Warranty

Roll-in and barrier-free bases and low-threshold acrylic bases carry a 30-year limited warranty at the original installation location. Report a defect within 10 days of discovering it, keep photos, and note that drilling into the base threshold or exceeding the weight capacity voids coverage. Labor is not included. The stalls and kits carry their own printed terms, from a lifetime limited residential warranty on the AcrylX stalls to shorter terms on the older gel coat units. Details are in warranty coverage for Ella shower bases, and the printed terms for stalls, doors and seats have their own article.

Watch: The Bases and a Full Shower Installation

The video presents the three sizes of solid cultured marble bases, their glossy gel-coat finish and ADA textured floor, and the two-person install.
The walkthrough starts at delivery, where an adult inspects the cartons and notes any damage on the bill of lading before the driver leaves, then covers dry-fitting the unit, checking the framing pocket with a plumb bob, setting the pan level with the back support leg in contact with the subfloor, the 2 inch no-caulk drain, installing the walls on the pin-and-slot system, mounting the valve with looped PEX, the leak test, and caulking the seams before the trim goes on.

This clip shows the flexible dam that comes with every barrier-free base: measure, clean the surfaces with denatured alcohol, lay a tape guide line, cut the dam and fit the end cap, peel the red tape back about an inch at a time while seating the dam against the wall and floor, then run a thin silicone bead along the lower edge on both sides and at both end caps.

Common Questions

Where are the installation instructions?
Under Downloads on each product page on ellasbubbles.com; retailer kits also carry their own PDF on the listing. The roll-in base install guide is image-based, so ask the team if you need a step read aloud to your installer.
What colors do the showers come in?
White only, for the stalls, bases and wall kits alike.
Can you make a custom size shower base?
Yes. Custom-size acrylic bases are made within published alcove and corner ranges with a 4 inch threshold. Share your rough opening and drain location with your Ella dealer or the team and they will confirm what can be built.
Does the shower base come with the dam?
The collapsible rubber dam ships with the roll-in and barrier-free bases. It is self-adhesive; the surface must be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol first, and the grout line beneath it gets caulked.
Should I choose a walk-in tub or a walk-in shower?
A walk-in tub adds a seat and soaking therapies; a roll-in shower gives the lowest threshold for a wheelchair or a caregiver with a rolling chair. The comparison article linked above walks through space, mobility and caregiver needs.
What does the shower base warranty cover, and for how long?
Roll-in, barrier-free and low-threshold acrylic bases carry a 30-year limited warranty at the original installation location, covering parts, not labor. Notify the team within 10 days of finding a defect and keep photos.
What voids the shower base warranty?
Drilling into the base threshold, exceeding the weight capacity, improper maintenance, modification, accident or abuse. Freight and installer damage are not covered either, which is why the delivery inspection matters.
My kit arrived damaged or with a part missing. Who do I call?
If it came through a retailer, start with the retailer, since it holds your order and delivery claim. Then open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support with photos and the model number so the team can help with the technical side and any replacement pieces.
Are cultured marble bases still available?
The cultured marble line has been on hold with no restock date, and matching replacement panels are not always available. Ask the team about current stock before designing around it.

For anything model-specific, open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850. Every shower video is collected in the shower videos library, and the shower base sizes and thresholds comparison lists each base by size.
