Ella's Bubbles makes its own acrylic shower bases in three standard sizes, 30 by 60, 32 by 60 and 36 by 60 inches, with the drain position specified when you order. When a standard size will not fit, a rectangular base can be made to order up to 44 inches wide by 80 inches long. Wheelchair Accessible Shower Base Sizes, Drain Positions, and What Is Sold Separately covers the standard roll-in pans in detail.
Standard Sizes
All three standard bases share a 60 inch length and differ only in width: 30, 32 or 36 inches. They are ADA curb-less roll-in pans with no threshold to step or roll over, and the drain sits in a set position for each size, which makes a standard base the simplest choice when one fits. Left-hand and center-drain bases are among those the team has supplied, so tell the team where your existing drain line sits in the floor and it confirms which drain position matches your size. The bases are finished acrylic with the slope, threshold and drain molded in, so they are ready to use once set and must not be tiled over, as Can You Tile Over an Ella Acrylic Shower Base? explains.
Custom Sizes and Their Limits
- The largest custom base is 44 inches wide by 80 inches long. A 38 by 80 inch base with a left drain is within the limits; a 53 by 76 inch request cannot be produced.
- Smaller footprints are also made, including pans shorter than 60 inches. A 58 by 30 inch base with a center drain and a 36 by 36 inch corner base have both been produced.
- Only rectangles are offered. Bases with angled or curved edges are not available.
- The drain can be placed left, right or center but must sit at least 9 inches from each wall. A drain only 7 inches from the threshold edge is not possible, even on a custom pan.
- Custom bases are made for three-wall alcoves and for corner installations, and the team asks which layout you have so the drain and edges are placed correctly.

Threshold Styles
Beyond the curb-less roll-in pans, a 3 inch step-in threshold base is offered for those who prefer a slightly raised edge, and a custom base typically has a threshold of about 3 inches. Zero threshold bases sit flush with the surrounding floor for a barrier-free entry. Ella also offers cultured marble shower bases in three sizes. The video shows these molded solid bases with their glossy gelcoat finish and slip-resistant textured floor, and notes that they are heavy and take at least two people to install. Your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 can confirm which threshold style suits your bathroom and plumbing rough-in.
How to Measure Before You Order
Measure the finished opening, not the framing, and note the position of the existing drain line from two adjacent walls. Because the online drain-placement tool can round measurements up to the nearest inch, confirm your exact drain location with the team before the base is built. Shower products are sold per item, so plan the base, a wall system sized to it, and any accessories such as grab bars or a door together. Walk-In Tub and Shower Base Sizes and How to Measure for Fit covers measuring in more detail.
