The digital controller, also called the digital touchpad, digital control panel or keypad, is Ella's alternative to chrome push buttons for running the therapy systems on a walk-in tub. Instead of pneumatic buttons it uses a flat panel on the deck: a bubble icon starts the air massage, plus and minus keys set the speed, and holding the icon for two seconds stops it. The therapy systems underneath are the same as on push control tubs.

How It Works

The touchpad plugs into the display connector on the control box and performs the same functions the push buttons would. Touch the bubble icon to start the air massage, then use plus and minus to step the air speed up or down, and hold the icon for two seconds to stop. The controller also starts and stops the seat hydro pump, cycles the LED chromatherapy colors and, on tubs with foot jets, turns the foot jet pump on and off. Which Ella Models Have It

The digital controller is standard on the Shak, the Big4One and the whole two-seat family: the Tub4Two, Companion, Escape and Big4Two. On those tubs it runs air, seat hydro and LED, plus foot jet on and off. The Lounger's Air plus Hydro package is digital controller only. On the Monaco the controller is an add-on that is not always shown on the published listing, so ask your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 if you would like it on your order. What to Know as an Owner

A soft, damp cloth is all the panel needs for cleaning. If the touchpad stops responding, start with the control box reset guide and confirm the cable is seated at the display connector on the control box. A touchpad that has genuinely failed is replaced as a single part, and none of the pumps need to come out to do it; the steps are in touchpad or push controls not responding.
