Ella Big4One 33x66: Large Single-Seat Tub for Tall and Broad Bathers

The Ella Big4One is the large single-seat walk-in tub built for tall or broad bathers, one size below the ShaK. Its spec sheet lists an actual size of 33 1/8 inches wide by 66 inches long by 39.5 inches high, a 24 inch seat, and a water capacity of 127 gallons unoccupied and 75 to 100 gallons occupied, depending on bather size. It uses the outward-swing U-shape door, ships with the digital controller running air massage plus dual hydro, and is the tub the team points to for bathers around 6 feet and taller with broad shoulders.

Dimensions and Fit

• Actual 33 1/8 x 66 x 39.5 in; crate 36 x 68 x 49 in; net 271 lb, shipping 400 lb.
• Seat 24 in on the spec sheet (the manual prints 27 in), about 21 to 22 in long.
• White composite and tempered glass U-door, 3-latch lock, outward swing through 165 degrees; the door is centered and cannot be moved to one side, and it needs clear floor space in front.
• No extension panel; reversible end panel and wall grab bar included; the back sits against a wall, and a second end panel can be added if a third side is exposed.
• Doorways and hallways must clear the 36 inch crate width, or the 33 1/8 inch tub with panels removed; see will it fit through my doorway.

Who Should Choose It

The team recommends the Big4One for tall bathers (a 6 ft 3, 350 lb bather with 21 inch hips and a 6 ft 4 bather with broad shoulders were both pointed here), and it is not recommended for bathers under about 6 feet, because its very long seat is designed for taller bathers and is uncomfortable for a normal to shorter person. Smaller bathers can use it and simply have extra room, but if you want a snugger fit the team will suggest a 60 inch model instead, and larger bathers who are not tall are usually happier in the TransferXXL or Monaco. Ships with the digital-controller Air + dual Hydro package; it is not sold as a soaker.

• Hydro seat: 15 seat jets, 9A 900W pump, digital control.
• Hydro foot and calf: 4 foot and 2 calf jets, 7A 900W pump, in-line heater 6A 750W, ozone.
• Air: 12 seat and 4 foot jets, 4.5A 500W pump with Auto Purge, digital control.
• LED 0.5A; optional microbubble and heated seat. Dedicated 115V 60Hz GFCI lines: two 20A lines standard, three with microbubbles.

Also included: 5-piece fast-fill faucet, dual 2 in 4-port T-type drains, and a front apron with two access panels. Because the foot and calf jets run on their own pump with the heater, the Big4One offers independent foot massage without filling the whole tub.

1. Remove end panels, side panels, and aprons before carrying; lift by the frame.
2. Level on the adjustable legs so the door seals.
3. Connect the dual 4-port drains, using two or four ports and capping the rest, each with a P-trap; a 2 in main is recommended, though a T or Y into 1 1/2 in works.
4. Place shut-off valves near the tub and run 3/4 in supply lines.
5. Provide dedicated GFCI circuits and plan service access panels.
