Replacement Parts for Glass Shower Screens and Doors: Gaskets, Glass Panels, Silicone Protectors and How Doors Ship

Replacement parts for Ella's Bubbles glass shower screens and doors, including glass panels, bottom gaskets, end caps, chrome knobs and screw caps, are available through Technical Support, and a complete replacement door can be shipped when the damage is beyond individual parts. Support has never seen a tempered panel crack on its own, so photos of the damage are requested with every panel request. This article explains how to identify the part you need from the parts breakdown in your door's manual, how a full door ships, and why the clear silicone strip on the glass edge should stay where it is.

Glass Panels and Gaskets

Each Ella's Bubbles door and screen is supported with its own parts. When a panel is damaged the team asks for photos first, both because the warranty requires photos for any part supplied under it, and because a cracked panel almost always has a cause worth understanding, such as an impact from the handle or a frame that was racked during installation. Gaskets for the bottom channel, end caps, chrome knobs and screw caps are available in the same way. Ella's Bubbles supports only its own products; parts for other manufacturers' shower doors are not carried, so if you are unsure which brand you have, send a photo and the team will tell you.

Finding Your Part Number

The installation manual for each door has an Identification of Parts diagram near the front, on page 2 in the manuals the team shares, with every piece numbered and a quantity table beside it. Include those part numbers in your ticket and the team can confirm the piece from the photos.

• Framed sliding shower door (8HD series): parts are numbered 8HD01 through 8HD27 in the diagram, covering the wall profiles, rollers, glass, seals and fixings.
• Tidy screen (6FD series): parts 6FD01 through 6FD17, starting with the wall profile 6FD01 and including the wall plugs and wall screws used to fix it.
• Other door families: the 6HD and 2ES manuals follow the same numbering pattern, and the 4-fold screen manual lists its wall channel, hinge screw covers and fittings in a parts and fittings table.
• LayDown glass shower screen: one note on the screws. Part 12 is a set of three countersunk ST4 (number 8 self-tapping) screws used in Step 2 to secure the bottom aluminium frame. The published installation document prints the length two ways, ST4 x 3/4 inch in the packing list and ST4 x 5/8 inch in the Step 2 drawing. Use the countersunk screws supplied in your kit as part 12, identified by the countersunk head and the quantity of three, and if a replacement is needed match the length of the screw that came with your unit or verify with support.

Gasket and Channel Reference for the 4-Fold Screen

This video is the best visual reference for the gasket and channel parts. After the screen is unpacked and laid bottom side up, the wall channel is measured, leveled, marked, drilled and anchored, with the screws left slightly loose and hand-tightened at the end. The gasket is fed into the channel at the bottom of the screen, with a little silicone lubricant if needed; it is longer than the door, so about 3 inches is left out at the wall end, cut, tied in a knot and seated in the plastic corner to anchor it. At the opposite bottom front the screw is removed, the gasket is pulled down the channel, the end cap molding is fitted with the same screw, the gasket is drawn through and the two halves of the seal end cap are fitted and glued, then the excess gasket is trimmed. The chrome knobs go on with their rubber gaskets. The screen is set on the channel to find the height and level: too low damages the gasket, too high leaks, and the gasket should brush the deck lightly and evenly. Holes are marked through the channel, the door is secured with the screw snap cap bases, decorative caps are added, hinge screw caps are snapped on, and a thin bead of silicone between the wall channel and the wall prevents leaks. How a Complete Door Ships

When the damage covers more than individual parts, the team sends a complete replacement door. A full door ships freight on a pallet, and the team will ask whether you need liftgate delivery or have a forklift available. Individual glass panels and small parts go by parcel carrier. Inspect a freight delivery before signing and report damage within 48 hours, as described in the first 48 hours after a damaged delivery.

Leave the Silicone Protector on the Glass

The clear silicone strip on the edge of a glass door is a protector. It keeps the glass from smacking into the door handle if the glass is not held in place while the tub door is opened. Leave it on. Small tears in the strip are not a concern as long as the handle is not hitting the glass and the tears are not getting deeper; if the strip is badly damaged, a replacement protector is available.

Keeping the Glass and Hardware in Good Shape

Most gasket and hardware wear is avoidable. Clean the glass after use with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, especially in hard water areas, and avoid abrasive cleaners, alcohol and petroleum-based products on the frame and gasket. A screen that leaks at the bottom is almost always a height or leveling issue rather than a failed gasket, so check the seating before requesting a part.
