Four-Fold Glass Shower Screen: Damaged Hardware, the Return Window and Why Panels Cannot Be Added

If a slide, roller or frame piece on your four-fold glass shower screen is damaged or will not slide, replacement hardware ships from the Ella warehouse once you open a ticket with photos and your serial number. The screen itself follows the standard 30-day return policy for uninstalled products in original packaging, so it cannot be returned once that window has passed or once it has been installed. Individual glass panels are not sold to turn a four-fold screen into a five-fold, because current screens are built as a more rigid unit that is limited to four panels.

Damaged Slide or Frame Hardware

Shower screens ship in several pieces and are assembled on site. Occasionally a piece of hardware is damaged in shipping or during assembly and a panel will not slide, or two frame sections show a mismatch in finish. In either case the fix is replacement pieces from the warehouse.

  1. Note which panel and which piece is affected, and photograph the damage and the packaging.
  2. Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support with the photos, your serial number and your shipping details.
  3. Support confirms the part against your order and arranges for the replacement hardware to ship from the warehouse.

The full parts list is in missing or broken shower door hardware, and glass breakage is handled as described in shattered or cracked shower glass panel replacement.

Returning a Shower Screen

A shower screen is an accessory covered by the same 30-day return policy as the tub. It must be uninstalled and in its original packaging, and a return must be authorized before anything is shipped back. After 30 days, or once the screen has been mounted, it can no longer be returned, so decide on the screen early and check its coverage against your tub length before installing it.

Why a Four-Fold Cannot Become a Five-Fold

Customers with a long tub sometimes ask for one more panel to close the remaining opening. Older screens could be extended, but the way the screens are structured has changed. They are now more rigid and limited to four panels. A middle panel cannot be inserted, and leftover panels from another screen are not sold for that purpose. The four-fold shower screen measures 44 inches long.

When the Screen Is Shorter Than the Tub

On a tub whose top measures about 59 to 60 inches, the 44-inch screen leaves roughly 15 inches uncovered at one end. If you want the whole length closed, ask the team whether a fixed glass panel can be placed beside the folding screen so the door folds up against it. Whether that works depends on your tub and bathroom, so the team confirms the option for your specific order.

Common Questions

Can I get a replacement roller or slide piece for my screen?
Yes. Open a ticket with photos and your serial number, and support arranges for the replacement hardware to ship from the warehouse. See replacement parts for glass shower screens for the parts that are available.
Can I return my four-fold screen after it has been installed?
No. Returns are accepted only within the 30-day window for uninstalled products in original packaging, and only after authorization. An installed screen is not returnable.
Can I add a fifth panel to my four-fold screen?
No. Current screens are built as a more rigid four-panel unit, and individual panels are not sold to extend them. Ask the team about a fixed panel if you need to close the remaining length.
How much of the tub does the four-fold screen cover?
The four-fold screen is 44 inches long. On a tub whose top measures about 59 to 60 inches, that leaves roughly 15 inches open at one end.
Can a fixed glass panel close the rest of the tub?
Possibly. The team can look at placing a fixed glass panel beside the folding screen so the door folds up against it. Ask before ordering so the option can be confirmed for your tub size.
