Installing Ella's framed sliding shower doors and the Tidy two-panel bath screen comes down to four things: every model is reversible for left or right opening, every one mounts on a siliconed wall profile fixed with solid-wall plugs, the glass is hung and adjusted from inside the enclosure, and the finished job needs 24 hours after the final silicone before the first shower. Match your door to its manual by the part-number prefix printed on the parts page, then check the opening range: the thicker 5/16 inch glass sliders fit 46 to 48 inch and 58 to 60 inch openings at 78 inches high, the 1/4 inch glass tub sliders fit 46 1/2 to 47 7/16 inch and 58 3/16 to 60 inch openings at 72 inches high, and the Tidy two-panel screen fits a 38 3/16 to 39 inch opening. Which Manual Is Yours

Page 2 of each manual is an exploded parts drawing; the prefix on the part numbers identifies the door:

• 8HD: the manual titled "Sliding Shower Door/8mm," 5/16 inch glass, 48 x 78 or 60 x 78 inches. Opening adjustment 46.02 to 48 inches or 58.03 to 60 inches.
• 6HD: the manual titled "Sliding Shower Door/6mm," 1/4 inch glass, 48 x 72 or 60 x 72 inches, for tubs. Opening adjustment 46.50 to 47.44 inches or 58.19 to 60 inches.
• 2ES: a second 5/16 inch glass sliding door, 48 x 78 or 60 x 78 inches, for shower trays. Opening adjustment 46.81 to 48 inches or 58.82 to 60 inches. For good waterproofing the tray threshold should be at least about 2 3/8 inches wide.
• 6FD: Tidy 2 Panel Bath Screen, 55 x 39 inches. Opening adjustment 38.19 to 39 inches, with 0.79 inch of play between panel and wall profile for out-of-true walls.

The Duo 55 x 70 inch framed sliding door with 1/4 inch clear glass, chrome frame and towel-bar handle is the one commonly paired with Ella's 60 inch one-piece and three-piece shower stalls; its spec sheet lists a two year limited warranty, and the full table of accessory terms is in shower door, seat and accessory warranty terms. Safety and Prep, Common to All

• Confirm the tub or tray was installed to its manufacturer's instructions first.
• Do not fix the wall profile to freshly plastered, painted or papered walls; a chemical reaction can discolor the finish.
• The wall plugs supplied are for solid walls only. On a stud or partition wall, buy fixings made for it.
• Tape the wall before marking so the drill does not wander on tile, check for hidden cables and pipes, plug the drain so small parts cannot be lost, and protect the tub with a towel.
• Two people are needed; the glass is heavy and delicate. Support panels on cardboard.
• Tools: drill with 1/8 inch and 1/4 inch bits, cross-head screwdriver, spirit level, tape, rubber hammer, knife, pencil and silicone sealant.

8HD Sliding Door, Step by Step

1. Check the wall is vertical. Hold the wall profile against it at the correct distance from the tub edge, plumb it, mark the holes, and mark the rail-profile seat holes with the supplied tool. Drill 1/4 inch, insert the plugs, silicone the full length of the profile's back, screw it to the wall with the washers, and fix the rail profile seat.
2. Slide the fixed glass panel into the wall profile and fit the single-blade seal from inside with the tool.
3. Assemble the stopper and rail hardware onto the rail profile and the wall bracket at the far end, using the hex key.
4. Level the rail profile, mark and fix the wall bracket seat, then seat the rail through the fixed panel and tighten both ends.
5. Mount the two rollers and the handle on the sliding panel and fit the bottom water seal.
6. Silicone the back of the sliding guide, set it beside the fixed panel, and hang the sliding panel on the rail.
7. Fit the small wall jamb into the magnetic seal, close the door to mark the jamb position, then drill, plug and screw the jamb to the wall.
8. Fit the anti-jump parts about 1/16 inch below the rail, the vertical seals on both panels (trimmed at the bottom), the magnetic seal on the jamb and the top cap.
9. Silicone and fit the aluminum water strip and its cover into the sliding guide.
10. Adjust the rollers from inside until the door hangs vertical against the magnetic seal, then refit the covers.
11. Seal every joint between wall, tub and profiles with silicone on the outside of the enclosure only, and do not shower for 24 hours.

The 6HD and 2ES doors follow the same order with their own part numbers; on the 2ES the top roller is what makes the door vertical.

Tidy Two-Panel Bath Screen (6FD)

1. Set the wall profile about 3/8 inch in from the outside tub edge, plumb it, drill 1/4 inch, insert four plugs and fix with four screws.
2. Insert the fixed screen panel into the wall profile; the 0.79 inch adjustment takes up wall irregularities. From inside, drill through the vertical profile into the wall profile with the 1/8 inch bit and lock profile and frame together with the four small screws and washers.
3. Connect the second panel to the first with the two hinges, tighten the inner screws with the hex key and cap the screws from inside.
4. Fit the vertical and bottom water seals to the second panel, with the vertical seal standing on the bottom seal and the triangular bubble facing the inside of the tub, then connect and silicone the bottom water strip.
5. Cover the wall profile with the concealing profile from inside, and fit the top covers to the vertical and wall profiles.
6. Silicone the outside of the enclosure only, not the inside drainage side, and wait 24 hours before showering.

Care After Installation

Clean the glass and frame with warm soapy water and a soft lint-free cloth, then rinse; skip alcohol, petroleum liquids and other chemical cleaners on the enclosure.
