The Three Documents Your Contractor Will Ask for

1. Spec sheet. Gives the actual length, width and height of the tub, the door swing and the door side. This is the sheet a contractor or move-in coordinator needs to confirm the tub fits the existing space.
2. Electrical diagram. Shows the circuits required for the therapy equipment on your specific configuration. A soaking tub with no jets has different requirements from a hydro massage or air plus hydro tub, so the diagram is tied to the therapy package you choose.
3. Installation and owner's manual. Covers leveling, plumbing connections, the drain, the electrical hookup and first-use checks. If your tub arrived without a printed copy, requesting the owner's manual explains how the team emails it.

What to Check Against the Space

Compare the actual dimensions on the spec sheet with the alcove or corner where the tub will sit and with the doorways it must pass through on the way in. Tubs shorter than 60 inches include an extension panel to help fill a longer alcove, so ask about the extension and end panel when you request the specs. Because the door and the drains are on opposite sides of every Ella tub, a right-side door puts the drains on the left and a left-side door puts them on the right, as you face the tub. Your contractor should pick the door side from where the house drain sits. For a concrete floor, where the drain sits for a slab installation covers the drain position.
