No, there is nothing you need to submit yet. The Warranty Activation Form is completed after your tub is installed, because it needs your installer's signature, the installation checklist and the serial number from the tub itself, and there is no published deadline for sending it in. The form and where to submit it are explained in How Do I Activate My Walk-In Tub Warranty?, and this page covers what to do in the meantime so that activation takes very little effort once the tub is in place.
Why the Form Cannot Be Finished Before the Tub Arrives
Warranty activation is a two page form that you and your installer each complete and sign. Several parts of it depend on a tub that is physically sitting in your bathroom, which is why a tub that has not shipped cannot be activated yet.
- The serial number. The form asks for the model and serial number, and the serial number is read from the label behind the magnetic access panel next to the door.
- The installer's section. Your installer initials a 16 item installation checklist line by line. The lines include the tub being level in all directions with all support legs touching the ground, a dedicated GFCI circuit breaker, the door seal staying watertight after the tub has been filled for at least 20 minutes, and the hydro and air pumps running for at least 20 minutes with every connection watertight. None of these can be confirmed until the tub is set and connected.
- The installer's credentials. The form asks for your installer's license and insurance information, including the electrician's.
- The installation address. The lifetime parts warranty belongs to the first purchaser and is tied to the original installation address, so the form records where the tub was actually installed.
If a message about warranty activation reaches you before the tub does, treat it as notice of a step that is coming, not a task for today. The form is designed to be the last thing you do after a successful installation.
Will Waiting Affect My Warranty?
Activation is required to put your Lifetime Limited Warranty in force, so it is a step to complete promptly once the installation is finished. There is no published registration deadline, though, and the form can be completed after installation. Waiting for the tub to ship, arrive and be installed is simply the normal order of events.
You also only need to send the form once, whichever route you use. There is no need to send a partly completed form now and a full one later. One complete submission, with both signatures and the supporting documents attached, is what puts everything on file.
If your dealer or installer has said they will register the tub for you, that is fine too. Dealers and installers can activate on a customer's behalf, and the team can look up an existing registration by name or address and confirm what is on file whenever you would like to check.
What You Can Get Ready While You Wait
The time before delivery is a good moment to gather the pieces the form asks for, so nothing holds you up later.
- Your sales receipt. The activation form must be returned together with a copy of the sales receipt. Request it from where you purchased, and keep it with your tub documents. Once the balance is paid in full, a receipt showing the order as paid can be sent, as described in how to get a copy of your invoice or paid receipt. If your only receipt will be the invoice from your contractor, that invoice counts as your sales receipt.
- Your order number. It appears on your proposal, order confirmation or original invoice, and it is the quickest way for anyone to find your order.
- Your installer's license and insurance information. Ella requires licensed electrical work, and the form asks for the electrician's license and insurance information. Asking for copies when you book the job is easier than chasing them after the installer has left.
- A conversation about the checklist. Let your installer know that the form includes 16 checks they will initial, and that the owner's manual calls for a water test before the walls are closed up. Installers who know this in advance plan time for the 20 minute fill and the 20 minute pump run.
- The activation address. Make a note of ellasbubbles.com/warranty-activation/. Typing that address directly into your browser is the working route whenever a printed QR code or an older link does not open.
- Your proof of purchase file. Where you purchased the tub, the purchase date and a copy of the sales receipt are the same three things the team asks for on any future warranty case, as explained in what proof of purchase you need for a warranty claim. Keeping them in one folder now serves both purposes.
What Changes Once the Tub Ships and Arrives
When the tub leaves the warehouse, the serial number for your unit is included in the shipping and tracking information. Keep that message. It links your tub to a specific shipment and to your order record, and it gives you the serial number in writing before you ever open the access panel.
When the tub is delivered, inspect it before anything else. Freight damage claims must be filed within 48 hours of receipt of the shipment, so save all packaging material and check for concealed damage, both visual and operational, right away.
The owner's manual that comes with the tub contains the warranty terms and the warranty activation form. If the paperwork is missing or gets discarded with the packaging, the team can send the documents as email attachments, as covered in what to do if you did not receive an owner's manual.
From there the order is simple:
- Your installer performs the water test before the walls are closed up.
- The tub is installed and your installer goes through the 16 checks with you.
- You and your installer each complete and sign your part of the two page form.
- You attach the copy of your sales receipt and the installer's license and insurance information, and submit the form online at ellasbubbles.com/warranty-activation/.
If the online form gives you any trouble, you can download the two page form, complete and sign it with your installer, photograph or scan both pages, and send them through a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support for manual activation.
If You Are Not Sure What the Message Is Asking for
If the message leaves you wondering whether something is due now, ask. Reach your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850, or open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support, and include the name on your order and your order number. If you would like the serial number or the ship date for your records, ask for them in the same ticket and the team can provide them with the order and item numbers.
The same contact is the right one after you submit. The team can see the activation status on their end and will happily confirm that your warranty is on file.
