A therapy package is the set of pumps and massage systems installed under an Ella walk-in tub at order time. Ella offers Soaking, Hydro, Air, Air + Hydro, Hydro + Foot, Hydro + Micro and several triple combinations, and the package you choose determines how many jets the tub has, which controls sit on the deck and how many dedicated circuits your electrician needs to run. People also call it the massage package, jet package or therapy configuration.
How It Works
Each system in a package has its own pump. Hydro massage pushes water through the jets and brings the ozone sanitizer, the intensity dial and the in-line heater with it. Air massage pushes air through smaller jets on a three-speed pump and runs an Auto Purge cycle after bathing. Microbubble delivers a cloud of tiny bubbles through its own jet. Foot massage adds a second hydro pump dedicated to the foot and calf jets. Dual and triple packages also include LED chromatherapy; hydro alone does not.
Because the systems are physical hardware, the jet and electrical lines on a spec sheet are written per package, not per model. That is why one Transfer spec sheet can list two different jet counts and both are right; each belongs to a different package. The jet counts by model and package article sorts these out.
Which Ella Models Have It
Every jetted Ella tub has a therapy package, but the menu varies by model. The ShaK profile and the Big4One profile show that both ship with the digital Air + dual Hydro package included, with Microbubble optional. The Deluxe profile describes a fixed Air + Hydro package. The Front Entry profile notes that it has no Hydro + Foot option and no LED light with any package. The full menu for every model is in therapy package combinations by model.
What to Know as an Owner
A package cannot be changed after the tub is built, so choose thoughtfully with help from choosing therapies common questions and the therapy package inclusions cheat sheet. If a hydro massage feels stronger than you like, the intensity dial on the deck softens it; there is no need to wish for fewer jets.
Keep your package name with your serial number. Any jets question, from a pump that will not start to a missing LED, begins with the team asking which package is on the order, and having that answer ready saves a round trip. Note which systems your electrician wired to which breaker, too, since packages with more pumps need more dedicated GFCI circuits.
