Is the Shower Kit in Stock, and How Long Until It Ships?

Updated October 2026

Whether a shower item is in stock, and how soon it ships, is confirmed for your specific order by your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850. Ella tubs are assembled and tested to order and accessory stock changes, so this page does not quote a timeframe. What can be laid out in advance is how each shower item behaves when it is on hand and when it is not: the four-fold glass shower screen is stocked in limited quantities and goes on backorder from time to time, the shower column kit is settled when you place your order, and shower wall panels can be back-ordered while the base ships. Four-Fold Shower Screen on Backorder: How the Rest of Your Order Ships and How the Screen Follows covers the screen in detail.

First, Which Shower Kit Do You Mean?

Three different Ella items get called the shower kit, and each one has its own stock pattern.

  • The four-fold shower screen is a tempered glass panel set that folds back against the wall and keeps spray inside the tub when the hand shower is in use. It is stocked in limited quantities and goes on backorder from time to time. When stock is very limited, screens may be offered only with the purchase of an Ella walk-in tub, and stand-alone screen orders may not be accepted until stock recovers, so ask first if you want a screen on its own.
  • The shower column kit is Ella's overhead rain shower option. It installs at the tub deck, is braced to the bathroom wall with adjustable connector rods, and connects to the Ella two-piece or five-piece fast-fill faucet. It is settled with your Ella dealer or the team when you order, and What Is the Shower Column Kit on a Walk-In Tub? describes the rods a kit ordered now arrives with and the tub-to-wall gap they cover.
  • Shower bases and wall kits are separate items on a shower order. When the wall panels are temporarily out of stock, the base can ship on its own so your contractor can set it, and the walls follow once they restock, as Can My Shower Base Ship Now If the Wall Panels Are Back-Ordered? explains.

What Happens When the Item Is Not on Hand

You are told at order time whether the item is on hand. If the screen is out of stock, the order is prepared two ways: the tub, faucet and any in-stock accessories are confirmed and shipped, and the screen is listed as a pre-order. When the screens arrive, pre-orders are prioritized and the screen ships to you separately. If a shipment of screens runs late, the team lets you know and your pre-order stays on file. Please confirm the invoice for the in-stock items so nothing waits on the screen unnecessarily. Dealers who want to stock screens can ask about committing to a set quantity from an incoming shipment.

Back-ordered wall panels work the same way. The team can release the base right away and hold the walls until they restock, and in some cases the walls can be sent from a second Ella warehouse when that gets them to you sooner. Ask for the technical and installation documents for the wall kit so your contractor can review them while the walls are on their way. Restock timing changes, so the team checks current timing for your order when you ask rather than any article quoting a date.

Every split shipment produces a separate tracking email, sent once each item leaves the warehouse, and each delivery is its own freight shipment. Inspect each one when it arrives, checking for visible and concealed damage before anything is installed, because freight damage claims must be filed within 48 hours of receiving that shipment. Keep all packaging material until you have looked everything over, and photograph the crate, the packaging and any damaged area.

Why the Column Kit Should Arrive with the Tub

The shower column kit is the one shower item where timing affects the installation itself. The video below shows why: because the kit needs access to the back side of the tub, it is installed prior to the final installation of the walk-in tub. The installer removes the existing hand shower, sets the shower column base into the vacant receptacle, replaces the water supply line and attaches the new one-half inch supply line to the diverter on the two-piece or five-piece fast-fill faucet. That is far easier before the tub is set in place, so settle the column kit at order time so it travels with the tub rather than following it. The video also shows the finished result: a height-adjustable hand shower that tilts and swivels, and a rain shower head with a maximum height of approximately 90 inches and 14 inches of adjustment down to approximately 76 inches.

Before installation day, measure the distance from the edge of the tub deck to the wall where the column will be braced, in inches, while the tub can still be repositioned. If that gap is wider than the supplied connector rods cover, for example in an alcove with an extension panel, contact your Ella dealer or the team before the installer arrives. The longer rods are no longer a standard part, and the team can check whether any remain in stock, but that cannot be assumed.

Shipping a Shower Item Together with a Tub

If you are ordering a shower item and a tub, or two orders at different times, they can usually be combined into one freight shipment as long as you are willing to wait until the later item is ready. The request has to come before the first order ships; once a pallet has been released to the carrier, the second order ships separately when it is available. The whole shipment waits for the slowest item, so if your installer is already scheduled for the tub it is often better to let the tub ship on its own and have the shower item follow. Orders that ship together can be placed on one invoice or kept separate, and some customers pay both orders in advance so the shipment can move as soon as the later item comes in. Ella can only combine items that Ella is shipping. Can Two Orders Ship Together on One Freight Shipment? lists the delivery details to confirm.

What to Have Ready When You Ask

  1. Which item you mean: the four-fold screen, the shower column kit, or a shower base and wall kit.
  2. For a screen, your tub model and the side the screen mounts on, so the right screen is confirmed before it is reserved.
  3. For a column kit, your faucet type and the tub-to-wall gap in inches.
  4. Whether you want the in-stock items to ship now with the backordered item following, or everything held to ship together.
  5. Whether you need the backordered item on a separate invoice for your project records.

With those details, your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 can tell you what is on hand today and how your particular order will move.

Common Questions

Is the four-fold shower screen in stock right now?
The screen is stocked in limited quantities and goes on backorder from time to time, so current stock is confirmed for each order by your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850. No restock timeframe is published.
Will a backordered shower screen hold up my tub?
No. The tub, faucet and in-stock accessories are confirmed and shipped now, and the screen is logged as a prioritized pre-order that ships separately when the next shipment arrives.
Can I order the shower screen by itself without a tub?
Ask first. When stock is very limited, screens may be offered only with the purchase of an Ella walk-in tub, and stand-alone orders may need to wait for the next arrival.
Does the shower column kit ship with the tub?
The column kit is settled when you place your order, and it is best to have it arrive with the tub. The kit is installed before the final installation of the tub because it needs access to the back side.
How will I know when the backordered item ships?
Each shipment gets its own tracking email once it leaves the warehouse. Treat each delivery as its own freight shipment and inspect it within 48 hours of receipt.
Can my shower base ship before the wall panels arrive?
Yes. Ask for a split shipment and the base ships now so your contractor can set it, with the wall panels following when they restock, sometimes from a second Ella warehouse.
