This page walks through the printed installation manual for the Ella four-fold bath screen, document code C0660-A00-01: the pre-start checks, safety notes, parts and loose fittings with quantities, tools required, and the eleven numbered steps in order. The manual states that the instructions suit both right and left hand fixing and that all product is supplied without the bath. Before You Start: What the Manual Asks You to Check

Read the instructions in full, then confirm:

• The bath is installed correctly and is level.
• There is sufficient space on the bath, and the screen movement does not impact other items such as sinks and taps.
• The product is fitted to a non-porous surface, for example tile, and the wall surface is flat.
• The product is complete and undamaged against the lists below.
• Fixings are supplied for solid walls only. Use the correct fixings for your wall type, and if in doubt seek professional advice.
• The area is clean, dry and dust free, and the correct tools are on hand.

Safety Notes for Glass and Drilling

• Handle glass with care, supported on cardboard to avoid breakage.
• This product is heavy and requires two people to carry and install it.
• Check walls for hidden pipes and cables before drilling.
• All glass is toughened and cannot be reworked or replaced by ordinary glass.
• Wear safety eyewear when drilling and handling glass; keep small parts away from children.

Parts and Fittings Supplied

A sachet of silicone grease, marked as supplied, is used in step 9. Silicone sealant for steps 10 and 11 is not supplied.

Tools Required (not Supplied)

• Spirit level, tape measure and pencil
• Screwdriver, utility knife and scissors
• Silicone gun and sealant
• Power drill with suitable drill bits, including an HSS bit for the metal wall channel

A note on bit sizes: the manual prints its drill sizes in metric. In imperial terms, step 1.2 calls for wall plug holes just over 5/16 inch, while the tools page pictures a bit just under 1/4 inch for the wall surface, so match your bit to the wall plugs supplied and to your wall material. Step 7 calls for holes of about 1/8 inch through the pre-drilled wall channel using an HSS bit.

Steps 1 to 11 in Order

1. Fix the wall channel. Position the channel on the wall, ensure it is vertically level and does not overhang the bath, and mark the pre-drilled holes (1.1). Drill the wall plug holes with a bit suitable for the wall surface and insert wall plugs B (1.2). Secure the channel with screws A (1.3), with the curved side facing away from the bath. When drilling tiles, apply masking tape to stop the bit slipping. Process the wall jamb according to the actual installed bathtub or shower base.
2. Prepare the horizontal seal. Slide the horizontal seal into position (2.1 and 2.2), then tie the end of the seal into a tight knot (2.3). A small amount of silicone lubricant on the seal helps it slide into place.
3. Seal the bottom hinge moulding. Working from the underside, ensure silicone sealant is applied fully between the horizontal seal and the bottom hinge moulding as shown.
4. Fit the end cap moulding. Remove the screw shown (4.1), push fit the end cap moulding and fix it using the screw you just removed (4.2).
5. Fit the end cap and seal end caps. Apply a small amount of silicone sealant to them (5.1), push fit them (5.2), pull the seal tight to remove slack (5.3) and trim the horizontal seal overlap (5.4).
6. Hang the screen. Offer the screen assembly to the wall channel with the outside face away from the bath side. Ensure the horizontal seal sits on top of the bath.
7. Secure the screen to the channel. From the inside, drill through the pre-drilled wall channel holes with the HSS bit (7.1), then fit the screw snap cap bases C, the No.8 x 3/8" screws D and the snap caps E (7.2).
8. Cap the hinge screws. Push fit the hinge screw cover caps (8.1).
9. Grease the hinges. Apply a small amount of silicone grease from the supplied sachet to the hinge mouldings (9.1).
10. Seal the channel. Apply silicone sealant (not supplied) where shown.
11. Finish sealing. Apply silicone sealant (not supplied) at the remaining location shown in the final drawing.

The door knob (F) is not called out by step; the spec sheet describes it as the knob for opening and closing the screen from either side of the tub.

Converting Four Panels to Three

The manual covers the screen as shipped. The spec sheet adds that one section can be removed to make a three-fold screen when a shorter screen suits the alcove. This video shows the conversion.

In the video the four-panel door is laid on a soft surface, the inside and outside screws at the third panel are removed, the plastic retainer inserts are pulled out with a long screw, the third panel comes out, one plastic spacer is kept, and the outer panel is reconnected to the middle panel. Product Care from the Manual

Use a non-abrasive cleaner. Water marks may be removed with a proprietary limescale remover or household vinegar. The spec sheet adds that abrasive or strong solutions such as alcohol, petroleum liquids or other chemical cleaners should not be used, and that stains come off with a soft lint-free cloth and warm soapy water, rinsed with clean water. How This Manual Relates to the Spec Sheet

The manual is the fitting guide; the spec sheet describes the product: 44" long by 42" high, chrome finish, 1/8" tempered clear glass in an ionized aluminum frame, PVC geared hinges, a rubber gasket angled inward for water retention, reversible left or right installation, a 90 degree pivot, and conversion to a three-fold screen of 32" wide by 42" long. Its one installation instruction matches step 6 of the manual: level the screen and adjust its height so the gasket sits on top of the walk-in tub deck.
