This page explains the Micro Bubble Therapy System component diagram for LayDown tubs, Micro_Lay-down.pdf in the /walk-in-tub/schematics/ folder (revision 7-13-23), and its heated seat companion lay-down-micro-heat.pdf (Microbubble Therapy + Heated Seat & Back, revision 01-16-26). An Optional System on One Page

The diagram's legend is headed "Micro Bubble Therapy System (Optional Feature)", and the push control on the drawing is also marked "Optional". Microbubble therapy is an add-on rather than a standard part of a LayDown tub, so not every unit has the pressure tank and pump shown here. If your order paperwork does not list microbubble therapy, this diagram does not apply to your tub. The Single Component and Its Parts

The legend prints one numbered component:

Two details in that line matter. "Air Switch" means the on/off control is pneumatic: pressing the button sends a puff of air down a hose to a switch, rather than closing an electrical contact at the button. "One (1) Jet" means the microbubbles enter the bath through a single dedicated jet, separate from any air or hydro jets the tub may have.

The Chain from Push Control to Jet

The drawing shows the following sequence:

  1. The "Infusion Microbubbles Push Control (Optional)" is pressed.
  2. The push control operates the Relay Switch.
  3. The Relay Switch starts the Water Pump, tagged "Electrical 110V".
  4. Water enters at "Water in" and the pump sends it to the MicroBubbles Pressure Tank (the pressure vessel named in the legend).
  5. From the tank, "Micro Bubbles Out to Jet" returns the water through the single jet into the bath.

The pressure tank sits between the pump and the jet, and the LayDown60 spec sheet describes the same system as an air pressure pump, a pressure tank and an On/Off push control. Because the water pump draws bath water in at "Water in", the system should only run with the tub filled above the jets, as described on the water level before running jets page.

Electrical Printed on the Diagram

The outlet block prints one outlet: "#1 Wall Outlet, GFCI Protected, Dedicated Line, 20 AMP, 120 Volts". The water pump carries an "Electrical 110V" tag, and the page closes with "Please View Specifications for Electrical Amperage (A), Voltage (V) and Wattage (W)". On the LayDown60 spec sheet, the microbubble therapy option is listed as an air pressure pump, a pressure tank and an On/Off push control, which matches the three parts on this diagram.

The Microbubble + Heated Seat Variant and the Models It Prints

lay-down-micro-heat.pdf is titled "Microbubble Therapy + Heated Seat & Back". Despite the lay-down file name, it prints "Available With: Stainless Steel, Outward Door", the stainless steel inward-swing door family and the outward-swing door family. Go by the printed list. Its legend has four components:

The microbubble chain is drawn the same way: Infusion Microbubbles Push Control, Relay Switch, Water Pump, Water in, MicroBubbles Pressure Tank, Micro Bubbles Out to Jet. Beside it, the Heat Keypad drives the Surface Heater Box, which powers the Surface Heater Pads. The two chains are independent, and the outlet block still prints a single "Wall Outlet, GFCI Protected, Dedicated Line, 20 AMP, 120 Volts". Troubleshooting Order from the Diagram

Because the diagram is a straight line, it doubles as a checklist when the jet produces nothing:

  1. Confirm the tub is filled above the jets and the dedicated GFCI outlet has power.
  2. Press the push control and listen for the relay switch to click; if nothing happens, the air switch and its hose are the first suspects.
  3. If the relay clicks but no pump runs, the water pump is next in line.
  4. If the pump runs but the jet gives plain water or nothing at all, the pressure tank and the line to the jet are the remaining links.

Common Questions

Is microbubble therapy standard on LayDown tubs?
No. The diagram labels it "Optional Feature" and marks the push control optional. Only tubs ordered with the microbubble option have the water pump, pressure tank and dedicated jet shown on this page.
How many jets does the LayDown microbubble system use?
One. The legend prints "Air Switch and One (1) Jet". Microbubbles enter the bath through that single dedicated jet rather than through the hydro or air jets.
Where does the pressure tank sit in the chain?

In what order should I check the system if no bubbles come out?
