The end cap on a folding shower screen fits onto the end of the horizontal seal, and the printed installation manual covers attaching it in steps 4 and 5. If the cap has come off, you can usually refit it by following those steps without new parts. If it is cracked or lost, a replacement end cap kit is available through your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850. Because the horizontal seal is often trimmed during installation, check that enough seal remains to protect the tub deck under the cap before you order anything.

What the End Cap Does

The horizontal seal runs along the bottom of the screen and rides on the tub deck to keep spray inside the tub. The end cap finishes the end of that seal, holds it in place and covers the cut edge. When the cap is missing, the seal can lift, water finds the gap, and the deck under the end of the screen gets wet. That gap is a different problem from a seal that was cut too short, which is covered in why the screen gasket has a gap and sprays water.

Refitting a Loose Cap

If the cap came off but is not broken, it can go straight back on.

1. Clean the cap, the end of the seal and the deck.
2. Fit the cap onto the end of the seal in the position shown in the manual.
3. Secure it exactly as steps 4 and 5 of the manual describe so it stays put.
4. Let any sealant the manual calls for cure before the next shower.

Check the Horizontal Seal Before Ordering

Installers cut the horizontal seal to length. If it was cut short, there may not be enough seal left to protect the tub deck under the end cap, and a new cap will not fix a wet deck on its own. Look at how much seal sits beyond the last screen panel. If there is slack, the cap alone is all you need, and if you are not missing any pieces you may not need a new end cap assembly at all. If the seal falls short, order a fresh horizontal seal along with the end cap kit so the two are fitted together.

1. Photograph the end of the screen, the cap if you still have it and the end of the seal. Support confirms the right kit from the photo.
2. Call (800) 480-6850 or open a ticket and ask for the end cap kit for your screen, giving the screen model from your order.
3. Say whether you also need the horizontal seal or the rubber sweeper. The seal cap assembly is included when a seal is ordered.
4. Give the shipping address. Small parts ship with tracking, and support sends the tracking details along with the installation instructions and video.

Installing a New End Cap
