Which Packages Include the LED Light

The LED chromatherapy light is included with the dual and triple therapy packages, is available as an extra with hydro-only tubs, is not offered on the Front Entry with any package, and is not offered on the LayDown tubs. Behind the access panel, the chromatherapy system has its own control box, and this is worth knowing because it means the light is fully independent of your massage pumps. For reference, the LED chromatherapy light is rated 0.5A and runs on its own transformer and control, separate from the pump circuits. The ozone sterilization system is a separate component with its own much smaller 0.04A rating. If the spec sheet that came with a Capri or Lounger lists the LED at .04AMP, that is a known misprint on those two sheets, and the correct LED rating is 0.5A.

Fixing a Light That Will Not Turn on

The push controls on your tub deck are pneumatic. Pressing the button creates air pressure that travels down a thin red tube and activates a relay switch inside the control box, so most light problems are connection problems rather than failed parts.   1. Confirm the red connection tube is securely attached to the chromatherapy control box. A loose tube means the button's air signal never reaches the relay. Our article on push-button air hoses and ports shows which port each hose belongs on.
  2. Check the other end of the tube at the push button, and make sure the connection is tight using the locking nut.
  3. If the push button is stuck in the down position, the line is air locked. Disconnect the red tube from the control box and the button will pop back up, then reconnect the tube at the box.
  4. Press the button and listen for an audible clicking sound inside the control box. That click is the relay activating, which tells you the button, tube, and relay are all doing their jobs.
  5. If the relay clicks and the light still does not come on, check that the box has power through its three prong connector and that the LED's three pin connection is seated, and confirm the GFCI outlet serving the tub has not tripped. A control box reset is the next step.

The light will not shut off, what do I do?
If your Ella walk-in tub's chromatherapy light will not shut off, first press and hold the light button for two seconds. This action is designed to turn the LED light off. If the light remains on after holding the button, switch the tub's breaker off and then back on to reset the system. If the issue repeats after this reset, please open a support ticket.
The light is stuck on one color.
A light that seems stuck is often just holding a color, because repeated single presses lock one in. Press and hold for two seconds to turn it off, then press once to restart the cycle. If it always comes back on the same color, the LED module or its control box may need replacing; the LED has its own box and transformer, and a control box reset is worth trying first.
The tub glows dimly at night and I cannot find a switch.
If your Ella walk-in tub glows dimly at night and you cannot find a switch, it is likely the LED chromatherapy light. To turn it off, press and hold the light button for two seconds. If the glow persists even after you release the button, please report it to the support team with your tub's model and serial number so they can check the light's control box.
Everything else works but the light does not. Is it the button or the bulb?
Listen for the relay click in the chromatherapy control box when you press the button. A click means the button and tube are fine and the LED or its connection is the place to look; no click points to the air tube or the button. Both parts are replaceable.
Can I get a jetted tub without a light?
The LED comes with dual and triple packages, and you can simply leave it off by holding the button two seconds. If you would prefer a tub built without it, ask your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 before ordering.
What does the flashing red light on the seat heater button mean?
That indicator belongs to the heated seat system rather than the chromatherapy LED. If it flashes while the seat stays cold, open a ticket with your serial number and a short video so the team can check the heater keypad and box.
How many colors does the light have?

Can I buy a replacement bulb at the hardware store?
No, and you should not need one; the LED does not burn out the way a bulb does. When the light stays off, the usual cause is the pneumatic light switch or a loose air tube at the control box. At the box, move the air tube from a working air massage button onto the light port and press that button; if the light comes on, the light switch or its tube is the fault. The box is reachable through the front access panel.
The light button housing is broken. Is that a big repair?
No. It is replaced as a complete button assembly held by a nut under the deck, and every other function keeps working meanwhile. A hydro only tub with a single water button has no LED; the light comes with combination packages.
