If the massage system switches itself off after about 20 minutes of running, that is the control box's automatic 20-minute shutoff and it is normal. If a pump stops after only a few minutes, the green power light on the control box stays lit, and neither the GFCI nor the house breaker trips, the most likely cause is one of the pumps overheating and shutting down. The fix starts by running each pump by itself to find which one is failing, then contacting support so the correct part can be verified and shipped under your parts warranty.

What Is Normal and What Is Not

The control box shuts the pumps off automatically after 20 minutes of continuous running. Starting the system again begins a new cycle. That timer is not a fault. A pump that stops after two to four minutes, especially once the system is warm, is a different symptom. Because the power light stays on and nothing trips, the shutdown is happening inside the pump or the control box rather than in your electrical panel. Isolate the Pumps One at a Time

2. Have your electrician disconnect the air pump from the control box and run the hydro (water) pump alone. Note how long it runs before it stops.
3. Reconnect the air pump, disconnect the hydro pump, and run the air pump alone. Note the run time again.
4. Run the test a second time after the system has warmed up. Overheating usually shows up sooner on a warm system than on a cold one.

If one pump runs the full 20 minutes alone and the other stops early, the early one is the likely culprit.
