Microbubble Nozzle Sprays From the Side or the Trim Ring Fell Off: Getting a Replacement

If water is shooting out of the side of your microbubble nozzle instead of streaming from the front, the support team's answer is a replacement nozzle, and it is a part the team ships to you. The same goes for the chrome trim ring around the microbubble jet if it has come loose or gone down the drain. Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support with your model and serial number, a photo of the nozzle and a short description of what you see, and the replacement ships under your parts warranty once the problem is confirmed. If you need it quickly, say so in the ticket.

How the Microbubble Jet Is Put Together

The microbubble jet is a small assembly with three pieces: a housing fixed in the tub, a check valve that sits inside the housing, and a chrome cap, the trim ring, that snaps onto the front. Because the cap only snaps on, it can be knocked loose, and small parts that fall into the tub can go down the drain. When that happens the team sends a replacement cover and a new check valve together, since the two go back in as a pair.

Why Water Sprays from the Side

The nozzle is designed to deliver the microbubble stream from its face. Water leaving from the side means the nozzle is not directing flow as it should, and the fix is a new nozzle rather than a repair. Keep using the tub normally in the meantime if the spray is only a nuisance, but if water is reaching areas it should not, stop running the microbubble system until the part arrives. Tell the team which Ella microbubble product the nozzle is on, since the same nozzle question comes up on walk-in tubs and on microbubble kits fitted to other tubs and basins.

Getting a Replacement

  1. Find your model and serial number. On a walk-in tub the serial number is on the label behind the magnetic access panel next to the door.
  2. Take a photo of the nozzle, ideally with the system running so the side spray is visible.
  3. Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850 and describe the problem.
  4. Confirm the shipping address for the part.
  5. If a new nozzle is not on hand that day, the team may offer a used nozzle from stock so you are not left waiting.

Fitting the New Parts

For a cover and check valve, the check valve goes inside the housing first, then the chrome cap snaps on over it. For a nozzle, ask the team for photos or instructions with the part if you want a reference. Neither job needs a plumber, but if you would rather not do it yourself, any local handy person can fit it. Ella does not send technicians. For other jet parts, air jet covers, jet faces, tubing and connectors explains what can be replaced, and how to order replacement parts covers the general process. If your microbubble system is the universal kit fitted to a conventional bathtub, mention that in your ticket so the right nozzle ships; see the universal installation kit for background.

Common Questions

Is the microbubble nozzle covered by the warranty?
Replacement parts ship under the parts warranty once the team has verified the problem from your photos and serial number. Labor is not covered, but fitting the nozzle or cap is a simple job. Have your model and serial number ready when you open the ticket.
What if the trim ring went down the drain?
Open a ticket and the team sends a replacement cover along with a new check valve. The check valve goes inside the housing and the chrome cap snaps on over it. You do not need to retrieve the old ring.
Can I get the nozzle faster than standard shipping?
Mention in your ticket that you need it quickly and the team will tell you what shipping options are available for your order. Parts normally ship as soon as the issue is confirmed.
What if a new nozzle is not in stock?
The team may ship a used nozzle from stock so your microbubble therapy is back up right away. Tell them how urgent it is and confirm your shipping address in the ticket.
Do I need a plumber to change the nozzle or cap?
No. The cap snaps on by hand and the check valve drops into the housing. Ask the team for photos or instructions with the part if you want a reference.
