When the microbubble is not making bubbles, follow the path the system uses: the Micro push button sends an air signal to a relay in the control box, the relay powers the water pump, the pump pushes water through the microbubble pressure tank, and the supersaturated water returns through a single port in the tub, turning the bath from clear to cloudy white. The first thing to check is that your tub actually has the microbubble package, because it is optional on most models: look behind the access panel on the backrest side for the pressure tank. No tank means the system was not part of your order.
Likely Causes
- The tub was built without the package.
- No power on the microbubble line: a tripped breaker or GFCI outlet, or a control box with no green LED.
- The air tube from the Micro button has come loose, so the relay never clicks.
- The pump runs but the water never clouds, or big bubbles appear after a few seconds, which points to the pressure tank or the agitator valve.
- On the Standard60 H2 system, the blue tank ran low or was filled with tap water instead of distilled water.
What to Check, in Order
- Confirm the pressure tank is present. The microbubble infusion therapy guide explains which tubs offer the package and what to expect from it.
- Fill until water covers the microbubble port and every jet before pressing anything. Running a pump dry causes permanent damage that is not covered, so a dry bench test is not a valid test.
- Check power. Reset the breaker and GFCI outlet for the microbubble line, its own dedicated line on a two-line package, and look for the green LED on the control box.
- Reseat the air tube. Push the tube from the Micro button firmly onto its control box fitting with a twist-and-push motion, check the hose and lock nut behind the button, then press the button and listen for the relay click.
- Reset the control box if several functions misbehave at once or the system quit after a power event, using the control box reset guide.
- Standard60 H2 only: top up the blue tank with fresh distilled water. Tap water minerals weaken output and dirty the tank, as the H2 microbubble guide explains.
- If the pump hums but the water never turns cloudy, switch it off, confirm the water level, then check for an air lock at the pump connection and that the pressure tank fittings are tight. Big bubbles instead of a fine cloud are covered step by step in microbubble system not working.
When to Open a Ticket
If the tank is present, the port is covered, the line has power and the button clicks but the bath still will not cloud, open a ticket with your serial number, a photo of the pressure tank and control box, and a short video of what happens when you press Micro. Switch a split or leaking pressure tank off at the breaker first, then photograph it.
