Which Ella walk-in tub models include the detox microbubble system?

Ella's Bubbles does not sell a separate detox system. The detoxifying benefit described on the Ella site comes from Infusion Microbubble Therapy, which fills the water with billions of tiny oxygen-rich bubbles released through a single jet and switched on and off with one button. It is offered on the Elite, Petite, Royal, Ultra, Capri, Monaco, Front Entry, ShaK, Big4One, Transfer32, Transfer60 and TransferXXL, on the Standard60 through its combined H2 and microbubbles system, and on the LayDown60 and LayDown72, always as part of a therapy package chosen when you order.

What the Detox Benefit Really Is

Infusion Microbubble Therapy is one of the therapy systems installed under an Ella tub at order time, alongside hydro massage, air massage and independent foot massage. The Ella video on customizing your walk-in tub describes it as the skin softening and invigorating option, and that is the benefit people are searching for when they type detox system. Unlike hydro and air, which use many jets, microbubble is released through a single jet and runs from one button. Under the tub it brings a dedicated 1 HP microbubble pump, a pressure vessel and an agitator valve feeding that one jet, and the microbubble circuit needs a second dedicated electrical line. On seated tubs the microbubble system is always paired with hydro, so the package you ask for is Hydro plus Microbubble, or a triple package that includes it. Our therapy package inclusions cheat sheet lists every pump, heater and control that comes with each package.

Models and Packages That Include Microbubble

ModelPackage that brings microbubbleWhat it means for your order
Petite, CapriHydro Massage plus MicrobubbleThese 52 inch frames take a maximum of two therapies, so microbubble pairs with hydro and nothing else.
EliteHydro plus MicrobubbleOffered with Air plus Hydro, Hydro plus Foot, Hydro plus Micro, Hydro or Soaking; confirm any three-system build with the team first.
Ultra, Front EntryHydro plus MicrobubbleThe Ultra has no soaker version. The Front Entry does not offer the LED light with any package.
Royal, Monaco, Transfer32Hydro plus Microbubble, or the triple Air plus Hydro plus MicrobubbleFrames that take three systems, so you can add air massage alongside microbubble.
Transfer60, TransferXXLTriple Air plus Hydro plus MicrobubbleThe Transfer60 takes three systems, not four. An all-four build on the TransferXXL is a special order, so ask before planning electrical.
Big4One, ShaKDigital-controller Air plus dual Hydro included, microbubble optionalAll four therapies are possible on these large frames.
Standard60Combined H2 and microbubbles systemHydrogen and microbubble come from one combined option on this model.
LayDown60, LayDown72Microbubble as the tub's single therapyLayDown tubs take one therapy at a time and have no LED light.

The pattern in the table is space under the seat. Every therapy system gets its own pump, so a compact 52 inch tub has room for hydro and one more system, which is why the Petite and Capri offer microbubble only as the Hydro plus Microbubble pair. The Royal, Monaco and Transfer32 have room for a third pump, so they add the triple Air plus Hydro plus Microbubble package, and the Big4One and ShaK can carry everything. The LayDown tubs are the exception in the other direction: they take exactly one therapy, so microbubble on a LayDown is the whole package. Our guide to therapy combinations by model walks through every model's menu.

Why It Has to Be Chosen When You Order

Every Ella therapy system is built into the tub at the factory. The shell is molded for the jets the package calls for, the pumps are mounted underneath, and the controls are set into the deck. That is why microbubble cannot be added to a tub later. If the detox benefit matters to you, settle it with your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 before production starts.

  • Ask for the package by name: Hydro plus Microbubble, or Air plus Hydro plus Microbubble on the models that take three systems.
  • Check that the model you want actually offers it. The table above follows the owner-confirmed list.
  • Tell your electrician in advance, because the microbubble circuit needs its own dedicated line in addition to the hydro line.

What Microbubble Changes in the Electrical Plan and the Care Routine

The hydro half of the package brings one water pump, the in-line water heater and the ozone sterilization generator, with a push button and an intensity dial on the deck. The microbubble half adds the dedicated pump, pressure vessel and agitator valve, a second push button, and a second dedicated electrical line. As a dual package, Hydro plus Microbubble also includes the LED chromatherapy light, except on the Front Entry and the LayDown tubs, where the light is not offered. Care follows the package rather than the model: a hydro tub gets the monthly vinegar flush and a pump inlet cover check, and the microbubble lines are part of the same plumbed system. Keep the schematic that shipped with your tub, since it names the package and its circuits, and have your model and serial number ready for any jets question on a ticket.

If You Would Rather Skip the Jets Entirely

A tub ordered with no therapy systems is a soaker. It keeps the same door, seat, faucet, hand shower and drain hardware as the jetted version, with nothing to switch on and no in-line heater, ozone, Auto Purge or LED light. Most models can be ordered that way, though the Ultra, Big4One, ShaK and the Standard60 are always jetted. Our article on soaking walk-in tubs explains the trade-offs. The decision has to be made before the tub is built, in either direction, because a jetted tub cannot be turned into a soaker and a soaker cannot gain jets later.

Common Questions

Can I add the detox or microbubble system to my tub later?
No. The microbubble pump, pressure vessel, agitator and single jet are built into the tub at the factory as part of the therapy package. It has to be chosen when you order and cannot be added to a finished tub.
Does the microbubble package come with the LED chromatherapy light?
Yes on most models. Hydro plus Microbubble is a dual package, and every dual and triple package includes the LED light. The Front Entry does not offer the light with any package, and the LayDown tubs have no LED.
How many jets does the microbubble system use?
One. The microbubble pump, pressure vessel and agitator valve feed a single microbubble jet, and it is switched on and off with one button. The hydro jets in the same package run from their own pump and intensity dial.
Is the Standard60 hydrogen option the same as microbubble?
On the Standard60, microbubble is offered through a combined H2 and microbubbles system rather than as a separate Hydro plus Microbubble package. The hydrogen and microbubble benefits come from that one combined option. Ask your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 to confirm it on your order.
Can I get microbubble on a LayDown tub?
Yes. Both the LayDown60 and the LayDown72 offer Infusion Microbubble Therapy. A LayDown takes one therapy at a time, so microbubble would be the tub's only therapy system, and the LayDown tubs do not include the LED light.
Do I need extra electrical lines for the microbubble system?
Yes. The microbubble circuit needs a second dedicated electrical line in addition to the line for the hydro pump and heater. Share the package name with your electrician before the tub arrives so the lines are ready.

About this guide. Answers in the Ella’s Bubbles Support Center are compiled from real conversations with tub owners, our technicians’ notes and the product documentation, then reviewed by our team. Tub models and options have evolved over the years, so a detail here may differ slightly from your exact tub. If something looks different on yours, send us your serial number and a specialist will confirm it for your model.
