If the hydro pump has come loose from the tub frame during shipping, your installer can secure it by re-bolting it to the frame with the original nuts, bolts and lock washers. The lines connected to the pump are flexible, so the pump can be shifted back into position and bolted down without cutting or re-plumbing anything. It can take some force to line the pump up again. Once the pump is tight and the flex lines and elbows are adjusted to clear the way, installation continues as normal and the tub is filled and tested. Shipping damage should also be reported to Ella's Bubbles within 48 hours of receipt so it is on record.
How the Pump Is Mounted
The pump sits on a mount attached to the stainless steel frame under the tub. Bolts pass through the pump feet and the mount and are held with nuts and lock washers. A hard knock in transit can loosen those fasteners and let the pump drop or rotate, which pulls the attached flex lines and elbows out of their normal path. The fix is mechanical rather than a plumbing job.
Re-Bolting the Pump
- Before anything is moved, photograph the pump, the mount and any loose hardware found under the tub or in the crate, and share the photos with support.
- Gather the original nuts, bolts and lock washers. Check the crate for any that fell out, using this guide to loose screws and small parts found in the crate.
- Lift the pump back onto its mount and line the feet up with the bolt holes. Because the lines connected to the pump are flexible, the pump can be shifted, though this may take some force.
- Fit the bolts with their lock washers and tighten the nuts evenly so the pump cannot rock.
- Adjust the flex lines and elbows so they clear the frame, the drain and the panel brackets and are not kinked or pulling on a fitting.
- Check every clamp and union at the pump before filling.
Testing After the Repair
Fill the tub above the highest jets, run the hydro system for several minutes and look under the tub for drips at the pump unions and at every fitting that shifted. Confirm the pump runs without vibrating against the frame. Drain, then repeat once more. Let support know the outcome so the ticket can be closed out.
Report the Shipping Damage
Freight damage claims must be filed within 48 hours of receipt. Keep all packaging material and inspect the tub both visually and operationally before filing, since a shifted pump is exactly the kind of concealed damage a quick outside look can miss. Work through the crate inventory checklist at the same time so any missing loose parts are reported together. Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850.
Who Does the Work
Ella's Bubbles does not send technicians. Your installer re-bolts the pump as part of the installation, and that labor is not covered by Ella. If a bolt, nut or lock washer is missing or damaged, send photos to support before substituting hardware from a store, and a replacement is arranged under the parts warranty.
