Yes. On an Ella walk-in tub the heated seat and backrest pads, their heater control box, and the in-line water heater are all supporting equipment under the Lifetime Limited Warranty, which is a parts warranty for the original purchaser at the original installation address. Once support verifies the fault from your photos, the replacement part ships to you at no charge, and a local licensed electrician or plumber fits it, because labor is never covered. The steps for requesting a pad are in How Do I Get a Replacement Heated Seat or Back Pad for My Walk-In Tub?, and this page explains what the coverage includes, what to check before you file, and how a claim runs for each heater.
What the Parts Warranty Covers on the Two Heaters
The published Lifetime Limited Warranty covers the bathtub shell, frame, door, door seal and finish, and it also covers the supporting equipment: motors, pumps, fixtures, electronic controls, the faucet, the waste and overflow, and plated finishes. The heated seat pads and the heater control box fall under supporting equipment, and the in-line heater is replaced as a part under the same lifetime parts warranty. Neither heater carries a shorter term of its own.
Two boundaries apply to every part, and they are the ones owners most often ask about:
- Labor is not covered. Ella's Bubbles is not liable for incidental expenses or material charges connected with removing or replacing a part, so the electrician or plumber who fits the new heater bills you directly, and their workmanship is warranted by them.
- Installation work, including plumbing and electrical connections, and improper or negligent installation are excluded, as is water damage to the home for any reason.
The warranty belongs to the first purchaser, is nontransferable, and is tied to the original installation address. If ownership changes or the tub is moved, the published terms say coverage is void. The support team verifies each claim against those terms, so this page states the terms as published rather than deciding any individual case.
One nearby exception is worth knowing so it does not get confused with the in-line heater. The thermostatic control valve in the faucet, which mixes hot and cold water to a set temperature, carries a 1-year limited warranty rather than lifetime coverage. It controls the temperature of the water coming from the faucet. The in-line heater is a separate component in the hydro massage line.
Heated Seat: What to Check Before You File
The heated seat and backrest option has two surface heater pads, one under the seat and one behind the backrest, both wired to a heater control box under the tub. Two-seat models such as the Tub4Two carry a pad for each seat. Press the heater button once and the seat activates. The video on this page shows the intended routine: turn the heated seat on 10 to 15 minutes before you get in, and note that it turns itself off automatically after 20 minutes, so a seat that goes cold partway through a bath has not failed. Push the button again to turn it back on.
Before opening a ticket, run through the checks in Heated Seat Not Warming Up: What to Check First and Which Parts Support Ships:
- Press the heater control button and watch for the red light. If it is dark, the cause is usually the button, its connecting wire or the heater control box, not the pads.
- If the light is on, give the surface time. The pads sit behind thick acrylic, so the surface warms well after the element does. With the access panel open, feel the pad directly. A warm pad with a cool surface means the heater is working.
- Note whether one area warms while another stays cold. Both pads cold at once points to power, the box or a loose button plug, which is a wiring fix. One pad cold while the other warms points to that pad.
- Expect some parts of the seat to feel less warm than others. Reinforcement under the seat thickens the shell there, and that is normal.
Depending on the symptom, support sends a heater control button, a longer connecting wire, the heater control box, or the pad itself. Every tub is tested before it ships, so on a new installation the team asks exactly what is happening before anything is sent.
In-Line Heater: What to Check Before You File
The in-line heater sits in the hydro massage water line beside the pump and warms the water as the pump circulates it, which is how the bath holds its temperature during a hydro massage. It switches on by itself whenever the hydro pump runs, a red indicator shows it is heating, and there is no reset button. It cannot be run on its own, does not heat a still tub, and is not meant to heat cold tap water. Your home water heater fills the tub.
The heater comes with hydro massage packages and combined air and hydro packages. Soaking-only tubs have no pumps and air-only tubs have no hydro water line, so neither includes one, as explained in Does My Ella Tub Include an In-Line Heater?. If your invoice shows a soaking or air-only package, there is no in-line heater to claim.
The published check is short, and it comes from In-Line Heater Light Stays Off and the Water Cools:
- Confirm the tub has power and the GFCI breaker or receptacle has not tripped. The hydro pump and its in-line heater share one plug, so if the pump runs, power is reaching the heater.
- Start the hydro massage and confirm the pump runs and the jets have pressure.
- Open the access panel and watch the heater's indicator light while the pump runs. It should light and stay lit.
- If the light never comes on, or lights for a few seconds and goes dark while the pump keeps running, the heater has failed. It is replaced rather than repaired, and no further troubleshooting is needed.
Ella has used two heater styles, a straight tube in line with the plumbing and a T-style body with a side connection. Support needs to know which one you have before a replacement ships, so take a clear photo of the heater and its connections with the panel open.
How the Warranty Claim Runs
- Find your serial number on the label behind the magnetic access panel next to the door.
- Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850 with your model, serial number and where you purchased.
- Describe exactly what happens: no light, a light with no heat, only one area warming, or a heater light that goes dark while the pump runs.
- Attach photos of the part and its wiring or connections. Photos and a description are required for verification.
- Once verified, the part ships to the original customer's address at no charge, or directly to the installer doing the work if you prefer, and a tracking number is emailed. Delivery depends on parts availability.
- Your installer or a local licensed electrician or plumber fits the part. Ella technical support is available to them by phone or video for the life of the tub.
If the warranty activation form was never returned, complete it now. The two-page form is signed by both the customer and the installer and puts the warranty on file, which makes every parts request go faster.
