The small holder that the pull-out hand shower rests in is called the Hand-Held Sprayer Base, and it is a replaceable part. If the base has come loose or lifted off the deck, it almost always means the nut that secures it from underneath has unscrewed, and the fix is to reach under the deck and tighten that nut. Why the Base Comes Loose

The sprayer base is held to the deck by a threaded nut underneath. When the base is twisted from above, for example when someone turns it to angle the wand, the nut slowly backs off the threads. After enough turns the nut drops free and the base lifts straight off the deck. Nothing is broken at that point. The base, the nut, and the deck hole are all still good, and the only job is to put the nut back on and snug it down.

How to Tighten the Base Nut

  1. Find a way to reach the underside of the deck on the faucet side. If your tub has an end panel on that side, remove it and you will be able to see the underside of the sprayer base.
  2. Locate the nut, which may have fallen to the floor of the enclosure. Thread it back onto the base stem by hand.
  3. Hold the base square on the deck from above while a helper tightens the nut from below until the base no longer turns.
  4. Refit the end panel and check that the hand shower hose still moves freely through the deck.

If the faucet side of the tub sits against a wall with no removable panel, the remaining option is an opening cut in the wall on the other side, sized so the nut can be reached. A local plumber or handyman can make the opening and cover it afterward. Where no access is possible at all, silicone can be used to fix the base back to the deck, but tightening the nut is the better and more durable repair. When the Base Is Actually Broken

A base that has cracked, or a snapped holder that will no longer grip the wand, needs replacing rather than tightening. Take a clear photo of the damaged piece on the deck and send it in. Why did my hand shower holder lift off the deck?
The holder is secured by a nut under the deck, and twisting the holder from above slowly unscrews that nut. Once it falls off, the base lifts free. Reinstalling and tightening the nut from underneath puts everything back as it was.
Can I just glue the sprayer base back down?
Silicone can hold the base in place if there is truly no way to reach the nut. It is a fallback, not the preferred repair, because a tightened nut is stronger and lets the base be removed later if needed. Try to gain access under the deck first.
How do I reach underneath the deck to tighten it?
If the faucet side has a removable end panel, take it off and the nut is in reach. On a tub with that side against a wall, an opening cut in the far side of the wall is the usual solution, covered again once the nut is tight.
