first remove the decorative bolt cover and insert a three millimeter allen wrench and loosen the allen bolt lift off the spout handle here you can see where the allen bolt is attached unscrew and remove the escutcheon plate loosen and remove the brass locking collar and then simply lift out the cartridge when replacing the cartridge make sure the two guide posts line up with the receptacles in the spout housing the cartridge will seat correctly when the two guide posts are in the correct position replace and tighten the brass locking collar tighten securely without over torquing replace and hand tighten the escutcheon plate the faucet handle back onto the top of the cartridge and tighten the allen bolt securely without over torquing finally replace the bolt cover the red side should be on the left for hot and the blue should be on the right for cold
