What Are My Options If My Swivel Tray Broke or Does Not Fit?

If your swivel tray broke, or it will not fit your tub, the good news is that the tray and its mounting flange are replaceable accessories, and the first thing to check is whether your model takes the tray at all. The patented 360 degree swivel tray is designed for the stainless inward swing door deck: it is standard on the Elite, Royal, Deluxe and Ultimate and on the two seat Companion and Escape, it is not listed for the Petite, and it is not compatible with the Ultra or the Transfer30. It is not standard equipment on other models, so a Monaco that did not come with the little table is not missing anything; ask the team whether a tray can be fitted to your deck.

Likely Causes

  • The tray pin or the threaded fitting damaged in use
  • The plastic mounting flange cracked or missing
  • A tray ordered for a model with a different deck, so the pin does not reach the fitting
  • The tray and the folding glass screen planned separately, so the tray cannot swing without hitting the screen
  • The tray packed in the small parts box inside the crate and mistaken for missing

What to Check, in Order

  1. Confirm your model. The tray fits the stainless inward swing deck only, so check the fit list in swivel tray, seat riser and seat cushions. If your model is not on it, ask with your model and serial number before ordering a tray.
  2. Check how it mounts. The tray is 8.5 by 8.5 inches with a 2 inch pin on one corner. Slide the pin into the threaded fitting near the door and screw the cap on to secure it; unscrew the cap and lift to remove. A cap covers the fitting when the tray is off.
  3. If the tray was not in the crate, look inside the tub and under the frame before declaring it missing. Every small item is individually wrapped and boxed there before the tub is wrapped and crated; the list is in what is in the crate.
  4. If the tray gets in the way of the glass screen, plan the two together. The 4 fold screen mounts on the wall side away from any extension panel, and the tray rotates out of the way for entry and exit, so position the screen so the tray can swing clear.
  5. If the flange or the tray is cracked, photograph the fitting near the door and the tray, and note your model and serial number. Both are replaceable parts.

The clips in the accessories video library show the tray pivoting clear of the door and how it sits relative to the screen.

When to Open a Ticket

Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support with your model and serial number, a photo of the broken tray or flange, and a photo of the threaded fitting near the door. Your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 confirm the correct accessory for your seat and door family before anything ships, which avoids a tray that does not fit.

Common Questions

How does the swivel tray mount to the tub?
A 2 inch pin on one corner of the 8.5 by 8.5 inch tray slides into a threaded fitting near the door, and a cap screws on to secure it. To remove it, unscrew the cap and lift the tray out; a cap covers the fitting while the tray is off.
Where do I get the plastic flange for the tray?
The mounting flange is a replaceable part. Ask your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850, or open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support with your model and serial number and a photo of the fitting, and the correct flange will be arranged.
Why did my Monaco not come with the little table?
The swivel tray is standard on the stainless inward swing door tubs and is not standard equipment on other models. Check the spec sheet for your model or ask the team whether a tray can be fitted to your deck.
What if the tray interferes with the folding glass screen?
Plan the screen position around the tray. The screen goes on the wall side away from the extension panel, and the tray rotates clear for entry and exit, so a small shift in the screen position usually gives the tray room to swing.
