Yes. The 4-fold glass shower screen and the swivel tray can be used on the same tub, and the team confirms the screen fits seated tubs such as the Ultimate that come with the tray. Because the tray mounts in a threaded fitting near the door and the screen crosses the door on its way from the back wall to the front, the two need to be planned together so the tray can swing clear of the glass. What Is the Swivel Tray on a Walk-In Tub? describes the tray and its mount.
Where Each Accessory Sits
The swivel tray is Ella's patented removable 360 degree tray. It measures 8.5 by 8.5 inches with a 2 inch pin on one corner, and the pin slides into a threaded fitting near the door on the stainless inward-swing deck, secured by a screw-on cap. In use it pivots a full circle, so you swing it over the water once you are settled and swing it clear of the door when you get in or out. It is standard on the Elite, Royal, Deluxe, Ultimate, Companion and Escape, is not listed for the Petite, and is not compatible with the Ultra or the Transfer30.
The 4-fold screen mounts to the side wall next to the tub, on the wall side away from any extension panel, folds accordion style against the wall and pivots for entry. Its bottom edge sits on the inside edge of the deck and runs from the back wall at the seat end across the door toward the front grab bar. Because the tray also lives beside the door, this is the spot where the two can meet.
Planning the Two Together
- Decide the screen position before either is installed. Position the screen so the tray can rotate out of the way for entry and exit without hitting the glass.
- Remember the tray is removable. Unscrew the cap and lift the tray out, and a cap covers the fitting so the deck stays smooth. On days you shower with the screen in place, the tray can simply come off.
- Either can be added later. The screen attaches to the wall and the tray only needs the fitting on the deck, so both fit an installed tub, as Can Features Be Added to an Ella Walk-In Tub After It Is Installed? explains.
- Lift the tray rather than forcing it. Lift it out instead of pushing it past the door or the screen, and wipe it with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
The video shows a dealer presenting the swivel tray as a dry spot for a drink or a book and the 4-fold screen that keeps splash inside the tub, and the clips gathered in Every Accessory Video in One Place show the tray pivoting clear of the door and how it sits relative to the screen.
If the Tray and the Screen Already Conflict
When a tray and a screen were planned separately, the tray may not swing without hitting the glass. Have your installer reposition the screen mount so the tray can rotate clear, keeping the screen on the wall side away from any extension panel. If the tray pin, the plastic mounting flange or the tray itself was damaged in the process, both are replaceable parts. What Are My Options If My Swivel Tray Broke or Does Not Fit? covers the checks, and a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support with your model, serial number and photos of the fitting near the door lets your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 confirm the right part.
