Shower Doors, Seats, Benches, Grab Bar Sets, Niches, Soap Dishes and Acrylic Trim: Sizes, Capacities and Finishes

This is the shower accessories spec sheet for an Ella's Bubbles shower: sliding shower doors, seats and benches with their rated load capacities, the SafeGrip 7-piece grab bar sets, SMC niches and soap dishes, and the acrylic trim pieces used with acrylic wall liners. Every figure is taken from the published specification sheet or installation document for that item; installation steps live in separate articles, linked where they apply.

Sliding Shower Doors

• Ella Duo 55 by 70 framed sliding door: two panels of clear tempered glass about 1/4 inch thick in a chrome frame, reversible for left or right opening, both panels slide, with an extended horizontal handle that doubles as a towel bar. It is the door commonly used on the 60 inch wide one-piece and three-piece stalls, and the product pages name it as model S5570C in chrome, S5570BN in brushed nickel and S5570B in black. The drawing shows about 55 1/4 inches wide by 71 inches high, and the sheet prints a 2 year limited warranty; other accessory terms are in warranty terms for showers, doors and seats.
• 5/16 inch glass sliding door, 48 by 78 and 60 by 78: the installation instructions give an opening adjustment of about 46 to 48 inches for the 48 inch slider and about 58 to 60 inches for the 60 inch slider. The door is supplied without a tray, the wall plugs in the pack are for solid walls so stud or partition walls need separate fixings, and it is heavy enough to need two people. Seats and Benches, with Capacities

• Folding bench with nylon slats: stainless steel frame, 17 5/8 by 32 13/16 by 5 1/8 inches, 16.53 pounds, load capacity 452 pounds, hardware supplied for wood stud installation.
• Folding teak shower seat: solid teak with stainless brackets, 20 by 13 inch seat, about 3 1/4 inches thick when folded, wall-mounted to studs, teak oil periodically. The sheet does not print a load rating; ask the team if you need one.
• Fold-up shower chair: ADA-style rectangular bench with four swing-down legs and adjustable feet, 304 stainless steel base, 18 gauge frame tubing, 16 by 24 inch phenolic seat with a white padded top option, installed footprint 14 by 16 inches. The product page states a tested load capacity of 600 pounds when installed correctly.
• Bariatric corner shower seat, rectangular or rounded: permanently mounted with pre-drilled brackets, stainless frame, slip-resistant textured acrylic top, rated to 600 pounds. The rectangular seat drawing shows 26 by 14 inches; the rounded seat is 20 3/4 by 20 3/4 inches.
• Acrylic corner shower seat: 16 by 16 inch seat area extending 19 1/4 inches on each side, rated to 300 pounds and tested by the NAHB Research Center, urethane foam backed, mounted against studs and finished with an acrylic wall liner or tile. Colors: white, almond, biscuit, sandbar and gray. Made in the USA.
• Removable bathtub seat: 31 1/2 by 13 1/8 inches, 9.26 pounds, rated to 330 pounds, for bathtub use only; test stability before each use.
• Padded seat for barrier-free bases: 32 by 21 inches with fold-down legs, listed as a package option on the AcrylX base sheets.

SafeGrip 7-Piece Grab Bar Set

The set is stainless steel with no-slip rubber grips (except the towel shelf), a 1 1/4 inch diameter for ADA compliance, and supports up to 500 pounds when installed on supportive wall substrates or with the included LifeSafe hollow wall anchors and stud-mount flanges. Total package weight is 23.5 pounds. Contents: one 2-in-1 grab bar and paper holder, one 2-in-1 tub or shower grab ring, one 2-in-1 grab bar towel bar, one 2-in-1 grab bar towel shelf, and three 16 inch curved grab bars. Finishes: brushed nickel, chrome and oil rubbed bronze, each as a complete matching set.

Other Grab Bars

• Grab bar with storage shelf: 18 inches wide by 4 1/4 high by 5 1/4 deep, 1 1/4 inch bar, 14 1/2 by 4 inch shelf, 304 stainless, rated to 300 pounds, in satin brushed, chrome or matte black.

SMC Niches and Soap Dishes

These are molded from SMC, the same waterproof, non-porous composite as the SMC bases, and are cleaned with a mild non-abrasive cleaner. Check the caulking around them periodically. Recessing and sealing steps are in installing SMC shower niches and soap dishes.

• Shower niche: 14 wide by 16 high by 3 1/2 inches deep.
• Dual niche: 16 wide by 27 high by 3 1/2 inches deep, two compartments.
• Triple niche: 16 wide by 39 high by 3 1/2 inches deep, three compartments.
• Soap dish: 11 wide by 2 high by 5 inches deep.
• Corner soap dish: 8 wide by 2 high by 8 inches deep.

Acrylic Walk-In Shower Accessories

The acrylic accessory sheet lists flush-mount and recessed soap dishes (flush mount 5 by 6 3/4 inches; recessed 6 3/4 by 6 1/4 by 3 deep; extra tall 15 1/8 by 8 by 2 1/2; extra wide recessed 14 3/4 by 14 3/8 by 2 1/2), a flush-mount single shelf 2 1/2 by 16 1/4 inches, a one-shelf corner caddy 4 by 7 1/8 by 7 1/8, two-shelf corner caddies 15 1/2 and 33 1/4 inches tall, a two-shelf rectangular caddy 25 by 11, four-shelf corner and rectangular corner caddies, and a 60 inch two-shelf walk-in bathtub corner caddy with shelves at 12 and 26 inches.

Acrylic Trim and Wainscoting

For acrylic wall liner installations the trim sheet lists: 3/4 inch and 1 1/8 inch trim for windows or outside corners; F-channel for an outside edge with no bullnose; H-channel to seam two wall pieces together; corner reinforcements placed in the two corners before the walls go in to square them up; the F-channel decorative cap molding used as a clip-on chair rail on top of flat walls for wainscoting; 4 inch and 6 inch hole caps used as escutcheons around tub spouts and shower arms; a shaving stand; and a window kit of four 48 inch sides, each 6 inches deep, that must be custom cut. Trim comes in white, almond, biscuit and gray, with pearl, granite and marbleized colors on certain corner trims. Sizes for the wall liners themselves are in wall kit sizes at a glance.
