Once you have a model in mind, the process runs in a simple order. You receive the spec sheet for that tub, your contractor confirms the tub fits your bathroom and tells you which door side to order, the configuration is confirmed with your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850, your order is placed, and the tub is assembled, tested and shipped. Ella's Bubbles is the manufacturer and does not install tubs, so a licensed local contractor, plumber or electrician does the measuring and the installation work.

Step by Step

1. Choose a model and therapy options. Describe who will be bathing and any mobility concerns. An outward-swing door eases entry, while a smaller bathroom may favor an inward-swing door.
2. Get the spec sheet. The spec sheet lists the exterior dimensions, door swing and the technical requirements your plumber and electrician need. Share it with your contractor before anything is ordered. You can locate it through Find Your Manual, Spec Sheet, Schematic, and Drawings by Model.
3. Have your contractor measure. The contractor measures the bathroom space and every doorway and hallway on the path in, and locates the house drain. This visit confirms the tub can be installed in your situation. Will it fit through my doorway? walks through the measuring method.
4. Confirm the door side. The door and the drains sit on opposite sides of an Ella walk-in tub. A right-side door puts the drains on the left, and a left-side door puts the drains on the right, as you face the tub. Your contractor specifies a left-hand or right-hand door based on where your drain is.
5. Choose your installer. You may use your own licensed plumber and electrician, or ask the team to check its installer network for a professional near you. To do that, the team needs the full installation address.
6. Place the order. When the model, therapies, door side and installer are settled, your order is confirmed and the tub goes into assembly and testing. Ella tubs are built and tested to order, and the team can confirm current timing for your specific order.
7. Delivery. The tub ships by freight to the delivery address you provide. Settle that address with your installer before the order is confirmed.

Using an Installer from the Network

When a network installer is available near you, the team checks that the installer is available, exchanges contact details between you and the installer, and the installer reaches out to set up next steps. Some installers work from photos you email them and give an estimate by phone, and others come to the house to measure. A site visit is the more reliable choice when you want to avoid surprises. Network installers are independent local professionals, so the team can only make a recommendation. You are never required to use the referral, and the choice of installer is yours. Because labor is handled by the installer rather than by Ella, it helps to read what to ask your installer for in writing before the tub goes in.

What Your Contractor Needs from You

Give your contractor the spec sheet and the installation manual for the exact model, the therapy package you selected, and the door side.
