Ella Front Entry 32x40: The Compact End-Door Tub

Updated September 2026

The Ella Front Entry walk-in tub is the shortest walk-in tub in the line, with the door at the end instead of the side: actual size 32 inches wide by 40 inches long by 40 inches high, a 25 inch seat, and 70 gallons unoccupied (25 to 55 occupied). It fits narrow spaces where a conventional tub or shower will not, and because the outward U-shape door faces the front it is the one Ella model that is not ordered as left-hand or right-hand.

The Front Entry's door sits on the 32 inch end, so the tub can slide into a space only 40 inches long.

Size and Layout

  • Actual 32 x 40 x 40 in; crate 35 x 43 x 43 in; net 200 lb, shipping 280 lb.
  • Seat 25 in (spec sheet) or 24 in (video), 13.5 in long.
  • White composite and tempered glass U-door, 3-latch lock, swinging outward from the end; there is no left- or right-hand version. The outward U-door operation guide covers closing, locking and handle care.
  • Two removable side panels included for corner or single-wall placement; no back panel and no extension panel.

Single Drain and No LED

The Front Entry uses one 2 inch 2-port PVC drain (one end cap, two overflows, two chrome cable openers) with an emergency pull chain instead of dual drains. Packages: Air + Hydro, Hydro + Microbubble, Hydro, Soaking. There is no Hydro + Foot option, and the LED chromatherapy light is not included with any Front Entry package.

  • Hydro: 13 jets (11 seat, 2 calf), 7A pump, intensity dial, ozone, in-line heater 6A 650W.
  • Air: 16 jets (10 seat, 6 foot), 4.5A 500W pump with Auto Purge, which starts about 20 minutes after the air pump is turned off and runs 120 seconds.
  • Microbubble 1 HP 7.3A. Optional heated seat, digital controller, and seat cushions.

Faucet and Electrical

2-piece fast-fill faucet (up to 16 GPM) with two 3/4 in by 5 ft supply lines and a pull-out hand shower, in chrome or brushed nickel. Dedicated GFCI 110/120V 60Hz line(s): one for Hydro or Air + Hydro, two for Hydro + Microbubble or the heated seat, per the electrical requirements guide. The team recommends the Front Entry and Mobile for single-wide mobile homes and confirms the Soaking version is available.

Watch the Front Entry

The video presents the 24 inch seat width and 13.5 inch seat length, the air and hydro systems, the oversized 2 inch drain with emergency pull chain, the 2-piece faucet, and the removable side panels.

This tour covers the 24 inch seat, removable side panels, three-speed air, hydro with heater, the single 2 inch drain with pull chain, and the U-door with 3-latch lock.

Planning the Space

Because the door swings out from the end, the clear floor space must be in front of the 32 inch end rather than along the side; the outward door swing clearance article shows the envelope to plan for. With two side panels included the tub can sit against a single back wall, in a corner, or in a narrow alcove, and the freestanding and exposed-side installations guide explains what to do when more than one side shows. For narrow spaces that are longer, compare the Mobile 26x45 and the Flow 28x48.

Common Questions

Is there a 60 inch Front Entry?
No, 32 x 40 is the only size, and it does not use an extension panel.
How tall is it?
The current spec sheet says 40 inches; an older blog post printed 42 inches.
Can I choose a left-hand or right-hand door?
No. The door is at the front end and its swing is fixed at the factory, so the Front Entry is the one model with no left or right version. The drain side is at the back end of the tub.
Does it have the LED chromatherapy light?
No. The LED is not included with any Front Entry package, and independent foot massage is not offered on this model either.
Can it be installed with only one side accessible?
Yes. Two removable side panels are included, so either side can be exposed; there is no back panel, so the back end should sit against a wall.
Is a soaker version available?
Yes. The Soaking package has no jets or pumps and needs no dedicated circuit unless you add the heated seat; see soaking-only walk-in tubs.
Is it a good choice for a mobile home?
Yes. The team recommends the Front Entry and Mobile for single-wide mobile homes because of the small footprint and the door position.
Will a tall bather fit?
The Front Entry is compact, with a 13.5 inch seat length and a short footwell, so bathers around 6 feet tall may find it tight and often prefer a 30 by 52 or longer tub. Measure seated head-to-feet length against the drawing, or ask the team.
Which faucet does it use?
The 2-piece fast-fill faucet with pull-out hand shower, in chrome or brushed nickel; the faucet comparison explains how it differs from the 5-piece set.
