What Can and Cannot Be Customized on an Ella Tub: Add-Ons, Special Orders, and Fixed Features

You can customize an Ella walk-in tub in many ways, but only at order time: door hand, therapy package, faucet style and finish, heated seat, aromatherapy, controls, screens and panels are all chosen before the shell is drilled and jetted to match. What cannot change is anything built into the shell: faucet and control locations, jet counts and layouts, tub color, and the therapies themselves once the tub is built. This guide sorts every option into four groups, included, optional add-on, special order, and fixed by design, so you know what to ask for before your order is placed.

Included with Your Package

• LED chromatherapy with any dual therapy package; ozone sterilization with hydro; Auto Purge with air. The LED is not part of soaker or hydro-only packages, the Front Entry, or the LayDown tubs.
• Extension panel on tubs shorter than 60 inches (Front Entry and Mobile excepted) and one reversible end panel; see extension panels and filler kits by model.
• The fast-fill faucet set with pull-out hand shower and two 5 foot supply lines, in the 2-piece or 5-piece style listed for your model.

Optional Add-Ons

• Heated seat and backrest, factory installed on any standard order; it warms the acrylic while the tub fills and drains and switches off automatically after 20 minutes. Details are in the heated seat and backrest article.
• Aromatherapy: an optional four-part canister assembly plumbed into the tub that holds liquid essential oil and disperses the scent during the bath. It can be fitted to almost any walk-in tub when there is enough deck space alongside the other options; essential oils are the recommended scent, and crystals or beads are not recommended.
• Digital touchpad on Hydro + Air packages; it is standard on the ShaK, Big4One and the two-seat tubs and can be arranged through your Ella dealer or the team on some models where the product page does not list it.
• Infusion microbubble where listed, or by special order on the Deluxe and Ultimate.
• Second end panel, 4-fold or bi-fold screen, shower column kit, seat pillow riser (the 6 inch riser for the Ultimate covers the seat jets), headrests, seat cushions and add-on grab bars.
• Faucet finishes: the faucet set is available in chrome and brushed nickel, with black and gold offered on some sets. See tub colors and hardware finishes.

Special Orders

A tub with no faucet or control holes so you can supply your own fixtures or mount controls in the wall, three or more therapies on a frame that normally carries two, and microbubbles on the Deluxe or Ultimate are special orders. They take longer to build than a standard configuration, so ask your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 to confirm timing before the order is placed. Fixed by Design

• Faucet and control locations are pre-drilled and cannot move; drilling elsewhere voids the warranty on that part.
• Jet counts and layouts are set per package and cannot be reduced or rearranged; a tub with fewer jets is not offered.
• Tub color is white; hardware is chrome apart from the faucet set. Grab bars, door handle and trim, drain covers, jet trim, push buttons and screen frames stay chrome.
• Therapies cannot be added after purchase, and neither can the heated seat or the aromatherapy plumbing, because they are built into the shell at the factory.
• Clearance and warehouse units come exactly as configured and are never modified.

Accessories You Can Add Later

Not everything has to be decided up front. The 4-fold glass shower screen, the shower column kit, the hand shower slide bar, extra end panels, seat pillows and risers, the head pillow, the swivel tray and add-on wall grab bars can all be added to an installed tub. Standard on Every Tub

Every Ella walk-in tub arrives fully assembled with a fast-fill faucet set, a pull-out hand shower and two grab bars. None of these are add-ons.

The base tub includes the shell and frame, the door and seal, the drains, the deck-mounted faucet set with the pull-out hand shower, and two grab bars in a chrome finish. The tub is jetted, plumbed and tested before it ships, so nothing is assembled in the bathroom beyond the plumbing and electrical hookups.

A soaking tub with no therapy package still includes the faucet, the hand shower and the grab bars. Choose a therapy package for how you like to bathe, not to get the basics.

The two grab bars are covered as parts under the lifetime limited warranty. If you want more grab bars on the bathroom walls, talk with your installer about placement, since wall-mounted bars are part of the bathroom rather than the tub.
