Can Ella Deliver My Tub on a Specific Day? Choosing a Ship Date Versus Guaranteeing Delivery

You can choose the day your tub leaves Ella, but no one can promise the day it arrives at your door. Ella schedules the freight carrier pickup on the weekday you request, and from that point the carrier controls the transit and the delivery appointment. If your builder or installer is only available on certain days, the dependable plan is to order early, let the tub be built and tested ahead of time, pick a ship date that leaves the carrier some room, and wait for the carrier to contact you about delivery.

What Ella Can Schedule and What It Cannot

Every walk-in tub is assembled and tested to order, so it can be finished ahead of your ship date and wait, fully packaged, at the loading dock. Read how Ella holds a finished tub until you are ready for the details. When you release the order, you name the pickup date and the carrier is booked for that day. Pickups are scheduled Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays, so a weekend or holiday ship date is not available.

What Ella cannot do is guarantee the delivery date. The tub travels by freight, and once it is on the truck the arrival is in the carrier's hands. Support can share a transit estimate for your destination when you ask, but it is only an estimate, and the carrier confirms the actual delivery with you directly.

Lining Up Delivery with Your Installer

  1. Place your order early through your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850, and say when you would like the tub to arrive. Ordering ahead means the tub can be built, tested and waiting rather than still in production when your installer is ready.
  2. Ask for the tub to be held until you release it. A held tub does not ship until you give the word.
  3. Send your preferred pickup date in writing. Ella needs a specific date to schedule the carrier pickup, so choose a weekday that falls ahead of the day your builder needs the tub.
  4. Check the shipment confirmation when it arrives. It lists the ship date and the carrier, and if the ship date does not match what you requested, contact support right away.
  5. Be reachable. The carrier contacts you to arrange the delivery, so keep the phone number on your order answered in the days after the tub ships, and let support know if that number changes.
  6. Have someone on site to receive the tub. Inspect the packaging for visible damage with the driver present. If you cannot make a thorough inspection at that moment, write "Concealed Damage Possible" on the bill of lading, then date and sign it.

After the Tub Has Shipped

Once the carrier has picked up the tub, Ella cannot hold it back or ship it on a later date. If you will be away when the tub is due, contact support and the carrier as soon as you know. The carrier may be able to keep the tub at its terminal for a time, but how long is the carrier's decision, not Ella's. This is why the hold option matters. It is far easier to keep a finished tub at the loading dock than to slow a truck that is already moving.

The same caution applies in the other direction. If your project slips after you have released the order, tell support before the pickup date so the release can be moved. Any damage found at delivery must be reported within 48 hours of receipt, and all packaging should be saved until the tub is confirmed sound. See what to do when the tub has not arrived and nobody has called if the delivery call never comes, and how freight delivery works for what to expect on delivery day.

Common Questions

Can I pick the exact day my tub is delivered?
No. You can pick the weekday the tub ships, and Ella books the carrier pickup for that day. The delivery appointment itself is set by the carrier, who contacts you once the tub is in their system. Choose a ship date that leaves room ahead of the day your installer needs the tub.
Should I order before my installer confirms a date?
Yes. Ordering early lets the tub be assembled and tested ahead of time and held until you are ready. When your installer confirms, you release the order with a weekday pickup date and the tub ships.
Will the freight carrier call me before delivering the tub?
Yes. The freight carrier reaches out to arrange the delivery after the tub ships. Keep the phone number on your order reachable during the days after your ship date, and let support know if the contact number changes.
What if the tub ships earlier than I expected?
Contact support and the carrier immediately. Ella cannot pull a shipment back once it is on the truck, but the carrier may be able to hold it at the terminal for a time at their discretion. Checking the ship date on your confirmation as soon as it arrives helps catch this early.
Can my tub ship on a Saturday or a holiday?
No. Carrier pickups are scheduled Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. Pick a weekday for your release date and the carrier's delivery call will follow.
