To adjust your temperature control valve for hotter water, first remove the set screw cover and loosen the set screw with an Allen wrench. Inside the TCV handle you'll see a spring-loaded locking pin. This is the anti-scald mechanism. The pin sets against the locking collar. The button must be pushed to increase the temperature. The button springs back when set at 100.4 degrees. To internally set the TCV to a hotter water temperature, first place the handle on top of the brass fitting and turn to warmer water.

Briefly take the handle off the brass fitting and then reset it, turning the handle a quarter turn counterclockwise. This will allow more hot water to flow through the valve and increases the water temperature. Make sure the anti-scald button is set correctly. Retighten the set screw with the Allen wrench and replace the set screw cover.
