Not on its own. The standard 2-piece and 5-piece fast-fill sets mix hot and cold by hand, and only a tub ordered with the thermostatic faucet package includes a thermostatic control valve that holds a set temperature. This page explains how you set the temperature on each set, what the thermostatic package changes, and how faucet parts are handled under the warranty.

How the 2-Piece Set Mixes Water

The 2-piece set uses one lever for both flow and temperature. Lift the lever to turn the water on, move it left for hot and right for cold, and push it down to turn it off. A diverter button under the spout switches the flow between the spout and the pull-out hand shower. The set is rated up to 16 GPM at 60 PSI and uses a 40 mm high-flow cartridge in a solid brass chrome spout.

How the 5-Piece Set Mixes Water

The 5-piece set has separate hot and cold levers, red for hot and blue for cold, with the diverter lever in the middle. You open both levers and adjust each until the mix feels right. Turn the diverter toward OFF and push the faucet lever down to send water to the hand shower, then dial through its five spray patterns. The 5-piece set is rated up to 18 GPM, and it is not thermostatic.

What the Thermostatic Package Adds

Tubs ordered with the thermostatic package have a thermostatic control valve on the deck plate instead of the standard hand-mixed set. The valve blends hot and cold to a set temperature. The thermostatic faucet set is offered in chrome only.

  • The thermostatic control valve carries a 1-year limited warranty and is excluded from the lifetime parts warranty.
  • Cartridge fouling from calcium, iron or contaminated water is not covered, so an inline filter or mesh must be fitted and cleaned periodically.
  • The thermostatic package is an order-time decision, because the deck is drilled for the selected faucet when the tub is built.

Fill Speed Is Mostly About Your Home

Both sets include a 5-setting pull-out hand shower on a 5 ft braided hose and two 3/4 in by 5 ft supply lines. Shut-off valves are not included. Real fill speed depends on your home's water pressure and pipe size more than on the set itself, which is why the two sets fill at similar rates in most homes.

Replacement Cartridges and Faucet Parts

Fast-fill faucet parts, including the cartridge, are covered under the lifetime parts warranty, so a worn cartridge is requested through support rather than sourced locally. Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support with your model and serial number, a photo of the part and a description of the problem. After verification the part ships to you, and a local licensed plumber does the replacement. The thermostatic control valve is the exception, with its own 1-year limited warranty.

Common Questions

Can I add the thermostatic valve to a tub that already has a standard set? The thermostatic package is selected at order time, because the tub deck is drilled for the chosen faucet when it is built. Ask your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 about options for a tub you already own.

Is the 5-piece faucet thermostatic because it has separate hot and cold handles? No. Separate handles let you fine-tune the mix, but the 5-piece set is not thermostatic. Only the thermostatic package holds a set temperature automatically.

Why does my thermostatic valve need an inline filter? Cartridge fouling from calcium, iron or contaminated water is not covered under the valve's 1-year limited warranty. An inline filter or mesh must be fitted and cleaned periodically to protect the cartridge.

Does the thermostatic faucet come in brushed nickel? No. The thermostatic faucet set is chrome only. Brushed nickel is offered on the 2-piece set, and everything else on the tub stays chrome.

Does the hand shower work the same way on both sets? Yes. Both sets include the same 5-setting pull-out hand shower rated at 1.9 GPM on a 5 ft braided hose. On the 2-piece you press the diverter button under the spout, and on the 5-piece you turn the middle diverter lever toward OFF and push the faucet lever down.
