Most Ella walk-in tubs stand between about 35 and 40 inches from the floor to the top of the deck, and the exact height for your model is the actual size figure on its spec sheet. A shower column adds its own height on top of that, measured upward from the deck, so the installed height is the deck height plus the column height. Use the deck height alone for windows, vanities and countertops, and the combined height for ceilings and anything mounted above the tub.

Reading the Height on the Spec Sheet

Spec sheets list the tub's actual size as width by length by height, alongside shipping figures for the crated tub. If a height figure looks taller than you expect, check that you are reading the actual size line and not a shipping dimension. Examples the team quotes from current sheets:

1. Elite: the deck runs level all the way around at 34 3/4 inches. The neck rest at the head end is the only point that rises higher, and the spec sheet's overall height of 35 inches is taken there.
2. Mobile 26 by 45: 39 inches, just under 40.
3. Big4One: 39.5 inches.

Deck Height Next to Windows and Counters

The deck is the highest structural point of the tub, so compare it directly with your window sill or countertop. On the Elite, for instance, the deck sits at the same 34 3/4 inches where it meets the wall as it does at the door, so a vanity on either side lines up with the deck, not with the taller neck rest. Shorter tubs include an extension panel to close the gap in an alcove, and what an alcove installation is shows how that panel meets the walls. If a sill sits lower than the deck, read checking tub height before you order before choosing a model.

Adding a Shower Column

The shower column mounts on the tub deck and its published height is measured from the deck, not from the floor. To find the finished height, add the column figure to your model's deck height. The column reaches up to 64 inches above the deck at its tallest setting, so on a taller tub the fully extended column can run close to or above a typical bathroom ceiling. Measure your ceiling and any soffit or sloped section above the tub, and confirm the column dimension for your order with your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 before you commit. The column is not offered for the LayDown models. Product pages show only width and length in the headline. The spec sheet on the Downloads tab, and the specification included with your order paperwork, list every measurement: height, seat height, threshold, door opening and drain position. Ask the team to email the sheet for any model you are comparing.
