The Ella Petite 28x52 is the narrowest walk-in tub in our stainless-steel inward-swing door family. It is sold as 28 x 52 nominal; the current spec sheet lists an actual size of 27.5 inches wide by 52 inches long by 35 inches high with a 19 inch seat. Use 27.5 inches for any fit planning. A 27 inch figure in one manual table is a known misprint.

Size and Fit

  • Actual 27.5 x 52 x 35 in; crate 31 x 57 x 47 in; net 200 lb, shipping 305 lb.
  • Seat 19 in wide; 65 gallons unoccupied, 30 to 50 gallons occupied.
  • Included: reversible end panel, 7 in extension panel for 60 in alcoves, deck-mount grab bar, dual 2 in 4-port drains, front apron with two access panels. Not included: swivel tray, wall grab bar, towel bar.
  • Doorways: the passage must be wider than 27.5 in. Our team confirms a 30 in door is no problem; a 28 in opening leaves very little margin, so measure carefully with our doorway measurement guide and check with support. The 31 in crate can be opened outside if needed.

Who Fits

The Petite suits small bathrooms and small to average bathers. Our dimensions guide notes that bathers over about 5 ft 10 may find legroom tighter than in longer models, and the 19 inch seat suits average widths. The team recommends it, along with the Elite and Mobile, for mobile homes. If you want the same door with a wider seat, the Elite 30x52 has 22 inches and the Royal 32x52 has 23 inches.

Packages and Jets

Air + Hydro, Hydro + Independent Foot (two pumps), Hydro + Microbubble, Hydro, or Soaking. Because the equipment sits under the seat, the Petite carries at most two therapy systems; see therapy combinations by model.

  • Hydro: 16 jets (10 seat, 6 foot), 5 to 7A pump, ozone, in-line heater 5.5A 650W.
  • Air: 16 jets (8 seat, 8 foot), 4.5A 500W pump with Auto Purge. Older Petites had 10 air jets; the current model has 16.
  • Microbubble 1 HP 7.3A; LED 0.5A with dual packages; optional heated seat and digital controller.

Faucet and Electrical

The spec sheet headlines the 5-piece faucet and documents the 2-piece single-lever set (up to 16 GPM); either is offered, with two 3/4 in by 5 ft supply lines and a 1.9 GPM hand shower. 2-piece cut-outs: 2-1/2 in faucet hole, 1/3 in rod holes, 7/8 in diagonal hand-shower hole. Electrical: dedicated GFCI 110/120V, one line for single or Air + Hydro packages, two for Hydro + Foot, Hydro + Micro, or a heated seat. The current model of the Ella Petite walk-in tub has 16 air jets. Any listing that shows 10 air jets for the Petite is outdated and refers to a previous version of the tub.
Will the Petite pass a 28 inch doorway?
The Ella Petite walk-in tub's shell is 27.5 inches wide, so a 28-inch doorway opening leaves very little margin for passage. A 30-inch door is generally no problem for the Petite.
