Which Ella walk-in tub models come with the 2-piece or 5-piece faucet?

The Standard and Standard60 come with the 5-piece Ella fast-fill faucet, while the Zen, Zen60 and Flow come with the 2-piece single-lever set. The LayDown72 is faucet-ready and can take either set as an option, the LayDown60 has no deck faucet at all, and on the other faucet-equipped models the 2-piece or 5-piece set is chosen when the tub is ordered and the deck is drilled for that set at the factory. The Two Faucet Sets in One Minute

Both Ella fast-fill sets are deck-mounted and built to fill the tub as quickly as your home's plumbing allows. The 2-piece set has a single lever: lift it for on, move it left for hot and right for cold, and press the diverter button under the spout to send water to the hand shower. Its spout is solid brass in chrome with a high-flow cartridge. The set is designed for 16 GPM at 60 PSI and is certified to CSA B125.1, ASME A112.18.1, ICC 117.1, ANSI/NSF 61/9 and IAPMO UPC with an ADA lever.

The 5-piece set has separate handles, a red handle for hot and a blue handle for cold, with the diverter as the middle lever between them. Turn that lever toward OFF and push the faucet lever down to run the hand shower. The 5-piece set is designed for 18 GPM. Both sets include the same pull-out hand shower with 5 flow settings, limited to 1.9 GPM, on a 5 foot braided hose with a back-flow prevention valve, and both ship with two 3/4 inch by 5 foot braided supply lines.

Faucet Set by Model

The rate difference between the two sets matters less than it looks. In real homes, fill time runs 7 to 15 minutes depending on tub size and your water supply, because the GPM figures assume 60 PSI and ideal plumbing. The bigger day-to-day difference is how the faucet is operated. The 2-piece set puts on, off and temperature on one lever with a button for the hand shower, which suits a bather who wants the fewest motions. The 5-piece set separates hot, cold and the diverter into their own handles, so each setting is visible at a glance. How to Tell Which Set Is on Your Order or Your Tub

The first video on this page shows the faucet choice from the factory side. The presenter explains that when you place your order the tub is pulled with your name on it and drilled for whatever faucet you selected, then built with the features you chose. He shows the 2-piece high-flow faucet, the 5-piece high-flow faucet, and a tub with the thermostatic faucet installed. A tub ordered with an Ella thermostatic faucet package includes a built-in Ella Thermostatic Control Valve that mixes hot and cold to a set temperature, and that valve carries its own 1-year limited warranty, separate from the lifetime parts warranty.

On your paperwork, the code 5P-FFF is the 5-piece set, and a finish suffix such as BN means brushed nickel. Because the hand shower is part of the faucet set, it does not appear as a separate accessory on your order, as What Comes With Your Walk-In Tub Order explains. On an installed tub, look at the deck: one lever with a button under the spout is the 2-piece set, and red and blue handles with a lever between them is the 5-piece set. What Carries over Between the Two Sets and What Does Not

Shut-off valves are not included with either set, so plan easily accessible ones near the tub. Hoses and handsets are matched to your set, and the 5-piece hose does not fit the 2-piece faucet, so a replacement request should always include a photo of the faucet. A dripping or stiff 2-piece faucet usually needs a fresh cartridge rather than a new faucet.

The Ella shower column kit connects to either set. The second video shows the installation on a deck-mounted faucet: remove the existing hand shower, install the column base into the vacant receptacle, replace the water supply line, and attach the new 1/2 inch supply line to the diverter on the 2-piece or 5-piece set. Press the diverter button on the 2-piece set or turn the diverter handle on the 5-piece set for the five-setting hand shower, then engage the column's diverter for the overhead rain shower. The column adjusts from a maximum height of approximately 90 inches down through 14 inches of travel to approximately 76 inches. The column is not offered for every model, and the slide bar is the simpler add-on for the hand shower you already have; both are covered in riser, column and rain-system options.
