Which Ella walk-in tubs can be ordered with the waterfall faucet?

Updated September 2026

The waterfall faucet is a listed option for the LayDown and HomeCare tubs. The LayDown 30x60 never ships with a factory faucet and needs a wall-mounted faucet of this kind, the LayDown 32x72 is faucet-ready and can take either a deck-mount Ella faucet or the wall-mounted waterfall, and the HomeCare 32x60 lists the waterfall as an option. Every other seated Ella tub normally ships with a deck-mounted 2-piece or 5-piece fast-fill set, so if you want the waterfall on one of those, tell your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 when you order so the tub can be delivered without deck faucet holes. For what the faucet is and what comes in the box, start with What Is the Waterfall Faucet on an Ella Tub?.

Model by Model: Where the Waterfall Is Offered

The waterfall is a wall-mounted faucet, so it pairs most naturally with the tubs that arrive without a deck faucet in the first place. The table lists what the published pages say for each tub, with "not listed" wherever no figure is published.

TubSizeWaterfall availabilityWhat it means for your order
LayDown 30x6030 inches wide by 60 inches longNever ships with a factory faucet; needs a wall-mounted faucet such as the waterfallA wall faucet is the only path, so the wall rough-in is part of the plan from day one
LayDown 32x7232 inches wide by 72 inches longFaucet-ready; takes a deck-mount Ella faucet or the wall-mounted waterfallChoose deck-mount or waterfall when you place the order
HomeCare 32x6032x60 nominal; no further figures listedWaterfall option listed at 11.9 gallons per minuteConfirm the wall rough-in with your plumber before the tub ships

What the differences mean: on the LayDown 30x60 the wall faucet is not an upgrade but the only way to fill the tub, so your plumber has to plan for it before the walls close. On the LayDown 32x72 and the HomeCare 32x60 you are choosing between a deck set that arrives assembled on the tub and a wall set your plumber roughs in. On every other seated tub the waterfall is a request you make before the deck is drilled, not a box you tick, and the request has to reach the factory before your tub is pulled.

Why the Deck Decides It on the Other Seated Tubs

Every Ella tub is drilled to order. When your order is placed, your tub is pulled with your name on it and drilled for whatever faucet you selected, which is the point the faucet-options walkthrough makes in Using Your Own Faucet: No-Faucet Orders, Pre-Drilled Decks, Wall-Mount Options, and Which Tubs Require a Customer-Supplied Faucet. A no-faucet order is possible on some seated tubs, but the deck still arrives drilled for the Ella set, which leaves you planning a matching deck-mount faucet or cover plates. That is why the guidance for the waterfall on a tub outside the LayDown and HomeCare pages is specific: ask for a tub delivered without deck faucet holes, and ask before it ships.

It helps to know what you give up and what you get back. The 2-piece and 5-piece sets include the extendable multi-function hand shower, two 3/4 inch braided supply lines and the diverter, and the deck faucet is assembled on the deck but not hooked to the supply lines when the tub leaves the factory. The waterfall package brings its own version of each: a shower diverter valve, two stainless steel hoses about 59 inches long and a four-spray hand shower, all wall-fed, so nothing on the deck is needed for the hand shower to work.

What the Waterfall Changes About the Rough-In

Because the spout, the double-handle hot and cold control and the 24 inch slider bar all mount on the wall and are fed from inside it, the supply rough-in and blocking have to be finished and tested before the wall surface is closed and tiled. A licensed plumber does this work; Ella ships the faucet and does not send technicians. Plan these items with your plumber before framing:

  • Ask the team for the dimensioned drawing from the specification sheet so the hot and cold supplies land at the faucet body's centers.
  • Choose the slider position where the wall can carry solid blocking for the brass body and the slide bar mounts.
  • Place reachable shut-off valves at the same time.
  • Skip the barrel extension kit used for relocated deck hand showers; the waterfall's hand shower is wall-fed from the start.

The step-by-step order, from setting the brass body on its cover plates to seating the hand shower in its holder, is in The Waterfall Wall-Mount Faucet: Installation Overview, Slider Bar, Finishes and Fill Expectations. On the demonstration tub the waterfall filled the bath in under 5 minutes. Maximum flow for the faucet is rated at about 10.5 gallons per minute, and the HomeCare page lists its waterfall option at 11.9 gallons per minute, so expect a fast fill on any of the tubs above.

Temperature Control and Showering with the Waterfall

The waterfall has separate hot and cold handles and no thermostatic control valve, so you set the temperature by hand at the two valves every time. If your household wants a fixed maximum, a qualified contractor can add an external temperature control valve on the hot water line, which may reduce flow and lengthen the fill; the checks for a tub that runs hot are in Why Is the Water in My Walk-In Tub Too Hot?. The diverter sends water either to the waterfall spout or to the hand shower, which has four settings and rests in a holder that adjusts up and down and side to side on the slider. The attachment is reversible, so the hand shower can sit wherever you see fit, and a seated rinse works the same way it does with a deck hand shower, as described in Can you take a shower in a walk-in tub?.

Finishes are matte black, chrome and brushed nickel. The rest of the tub hardware stays chrome, so chrome gives the most uniform look, while brushed nickel and matte black suit bathrooms built around those finishes. Clean the finish with mild soap and water. If you need to open a ticket about the faucet later, have your model, serial number, faucet finish and a photo of the installation ready.

The LayDown 30x60 video shows that tub outfitted with the waterfall faucet, its hand shower parked on the column and the four-setting spray in use, along with the tub's chrome locking handle and tempered glass door. The waterfall faucet video shows the cascade from the spout and how the hand shower moves up and down and side to side on the column and reverses in its holder.

Common Questions

Can the Ella Elite be ordered with the waterfall faucet?
The waterfall is not a listed option for the Elite, which ships with a choice of the 2-piece or 5-piece fast-fill set assembled on the deck. If you want the wall-mounted waterfall instead, tell your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 when you order so the tub can be delivered without deck faucet holes. The request has to be made before the tub is drilled.
Does the LayDown 30x60 come with any faucet at all?
No. The LayDown 30x60 is never sold with a factory faucet and has no faucet option, so it needs a customer-supplied wall-mounted faucet such as the waterfall. Plan the wall rough-in with a licensed plumber before the walls close.
Does the waterfall faucet have a thermostatic control valve?
No. The waterfall uses separate hot and cold handles, so you set the temperature by hand at the two valves every time. A qualified contractor can add an external temperature control valve on the hot water line if you want a fixed maximum, though it may reduce flow and lengthen the fill.
How fast does the waterfall faucet fill a walk-in tub?
On the demonstration tub the waterfall filled the bath in under 5 minutes. The faucet's maximum flow is rated at about 10.5 gallons per minute, and the HomeCare page lists its waterfall option at 11.9 gallons per minute. Actual fill time depends on your home's water pressure and supply.
What finishes does the waterfall faucet come in?
The waterfall is offered in matte black, chrome and brushed nickel. The rest of the tub hardware stays chrome, so chrome gives the most uniform look. Clean any of the finishes with mild soap and water.
Who should install the waterfall faucet on my tub?
A licensed plumber, because the faucet body, slider bar and hand shower are all wall-mounted and fed from inside the wall. The rough-in and blocking must be finished and tested before the wall is tiled. Ella ships the faucet and supports your plumber but does not send technicians.
