What Gives the Waterfall Faucet Its Clean Look

A wall-mounted faucet looks sleek largely because so little of it shows. On the waterfall set, the spout, the double-handle hot and cold control and the slide bar all sit on the wall and are fed from inside it. The tub deck stays clear, and decorative cover plates finish the points where the brass body meets the wall. Water arrives in a wide cascade, not a narrow stream. The three finishes are matte black, chrome and brushed nickel. The rest of the tub hardware stays chrome whichever faucet finish you choose. That leads to a simple rule of thumb:

The LayDown tubs are the natural home for this faucet. The deck of a LayDown has no room for hardware, which is why even its grab bars go on the wall beside the tub. Rough-In Dimensions and What to Plan Behind the Wall

People often ask for the rough-in dimensions behind the wall. The knowledge base does not print those measurements. They are on the dimensioned drawing in the faucet's specification sheet. Ask your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 for that drawing before the wall is framed, and give it to your plumber.

The planning sequence is published:

1. Have a licensed plumber rough the hot and cold supplies into the wall at the faucet body's centers, working from the dimensioned drawing.
2. Add solid blocking where the brass body and the slide bar mounts will land, and choose a slider position the wall can carry.
3. Place shut-off valves you can reach at the same time.
4. Finish and test the supply rough-in before the wall surface is closed and tiled. Everything is wall-fed, so a leak found later means opening a finished wall.
5. Set the brass body on its cover plates and connect it to the supplies. Mark the slide bar mounts level and anchor them. Connect the two stainless hoses to the diverter and hand shower, and seat the hand shower in its holder.

Ella does not send technicians, so a local licensed plumber does this work. The waterfall's hand shower is wall-fed from the start. That means the barrel extension kit used when a deck hand shower is moved to a wall is not needed.

What the Slider Video Shows, and What to Expect from the Fill

Ella's video on installing the wall-mounted sliding shower column shows how a wall slide bar goes up. You choose the position and find level. You mark and drill for the lower bracket, tap the anchor in flush, tighten the shorter screw and slide the cover over the bracket. The column sits in the lower bracket, and the shower head holder and upper bracket go onto the column before the upper bracket is fixed to the wall with the longer screw. The finished holder adjusts in height and pivots from side to side.

That video shows a chrome column fed from a deck hand shower. Its coupler and extension-line steps apply to that setup, not to the wall-fed waterfall hand shower. Follow the hardware and instructions packed with your own faucet.

For the fill, the waterfall faucet's maximum flow is rated at about 10.5 gallons per minute. On the demonstration tub in Ella's product video it filled the bath in less than 5 minutes. That figure describes the demonstration, not every bathroom.
