What Is the Waterfall Faucet on an Ella Tub?

The waterfall faucet is Ella's wall-mounted brass bathtub faucet, sold as a complete set with a 24 inch slider bar and a hand shower and offered in matte black, chrome and brushed nickel. Unlike the deck-mounted 2-piece and 5-piece fast-fill faucets, the spout, its double-handle hot and cold control and the slide bar all mount on the wall and are roughed in by a licensed plumber before the walls close, and water arrives in a wide cascade.

How It Works

The main body is cast from A-grade brass with a ceramic cartridge in a brass housing and separate hot and cold handles, so you set the temperature by hand each time. A diverter valve sends water either to the waterfall spout or to the four-spray hand shower, which rests in a holder that adjusts up and down and side to side on the 24 inch slider. Two stainless steel hoses about 59 inches long connect the diverter and hand shower, and maximum flow is rated at about 10.5 gallons per minute. The LayDown 30x60 never ships with a factory faucet and needs a wall-mounted faucet of this kind, while the LayDown 32x72 is faucet-ready and can take either a deck-mount Ella faucet or the wall-mounted waterfall (Model profile). What to Know as an Owner

Plan it before framing: ask the team for the dimensioned drawing from the specification sheet, choose the slider position where the wall can carry solid blocking, and place reachable shut-off valves at the same time. The waterfall's hand shower is wall-fed from the start, so the barrel extension kit used for relocated deck hand showers is not needed. The rest of the tub hardware stays chrome, so chrome gives the most uniform look; brushed nickel and matte black suit bathrooms built around those finishes, as covered in tub colors and hardware finishes.
