Besides chrome, Ella offers brushed nickel on both the 2-piece and 5-piece Fast-Fill faucet sets, black and gold on some 5-piece sets, matte black on the wall-mounted waterfall faucet, and satin nickel or antique bronze on a partner-brand Huntington Brass set by request. On the tub itself the faucet is the only part whose finish changes; the grab bars, door handle and trim, drain openers and covers, jet trim, push buttons and towel bar stay chrome on every Ella tub, and polished brass is not offered on any tub fixture. Can I get brass fixtures on my walk-in tub, and which parts change finish? settles the brass question, and this page gathers every non-chrome finish in one place, adds the wall bars and shower trim available for the rest of the room, and weighs how chrome and brushed nickel hold up over time.

What the table means: a bathroom finished in brushed nickel or matte black is possible around an Ella tub, but on the tub only the faucet joins in. Chrome is the finish that reads as uniform, because every bar, handle, button and drain cover already matches it. Brushed nickel is the broadest alternative, since it appears on both Fast-Fill sets, the waterfall faucet and the shelf grab bar. Black reaches the 5-piece set, the waterfall faucet, the wall bars, the shower trim and the bi-fold door. Gold is limited to the 5-piece set, and a bronze tone exists only as antique bronze on the partner-brand set.
Faucet Finishes, Set by Set
The 5-piece Fast-Fill set has the widest choice. Its published finishes are chrome and brushed nickel, with black and gold finishes also shown for that set. The 2-piece Fast-Fill set, with its single lever and diverter button, comes in chrome or brushed nickel only. The wall-mounted waterfall faucet, sold as a complete set with a 24 inch slider bar and a four-spray hand shower, comes in chrome, brushed nickel or matte black; the product video shows all three finishes and the hand shower adjusting up and down and side to side on the slider. A partner-brand Huntington Brass set can be requested in satin nickel or antique bronze, and the name on that faucet tells you who made it, not what color it is. Polished brass is not offered on any walk-in tub fixture, and Ella's tub colors page is explicit that oil-rubbed bronze and polished brass are not made for jets or grab bars either. What Is the Waterfall Faucet on an Ella Tub? explains when the wall-mounted set is the right faucet, including on the LayDown 30x60, which never ships with a factory faucet.
Chrome or Brushed Nickel: Which Holds Up Best
Both chrome and brushed nickel are durable, corrosion-resistant finishes, and how long either keeps its look depends on the quality of the finish and the care it gets. The difference is in how each one shows wear.
- Brushed nickel usually holds its look with less effort. The fine brush lines scatter light, which hides fingerprints, water spots and light scratches.
- Polished chrome wipes clean easily but shows every droplet mark, and a deep scratch stands out permanently against the mirror surface.
- Humid bathrooms. A satin surface can sometimes tarnish or stain in a very humid room, so brushed nickel still wants a gentle clean from time to time.
- Cleaning. Mild soap and water is the published care for the waterfall faucet finish, and the same gentle approach suits the Fast-Fill sets.
Underneath, the finish is plating over brass. The waterfall faucet body is cast from A-grade brass with a ceramic cartridge in a brass housing, and on the 2-piece Fast-Fill faucet the spout handle comes off to reveal a brass escutcheon plate and locking collar. That base metal is what gives the fixture its weight and life; the finish you choose is the surface over it.
Why the Tub Hardware Stays Chrome
The grab bar is the item people most want in black or nickel, and it is the clearest no. Your tub ships with the chrome deck-mount grab bar matched to your model, and Ella does not factory-install a bar supplied by a customer, dealer or third party, because the factory cannot know how an untested bar will behave. The door handle and trim, drain openers and covers, jet trim, push buttons, intensity dials and towel bar are likewise chrome only, and the 4-fold glass screen frame is chrome ionized aluminum. What Can and Cannot Be Customized on an Ella Tub: Add-Ons, Special Orders, and Fixed Features places faucet finish among the options chosen at order time and the hardware finish among the features fixed by design. For a uniform look, most customers keep chrome on the faucet. Customers set on another finish put it on the faucet and carry it through the room with the wall bar, shower trim and door.
Matte Black and Brushed Nickel for the Rest of the Bathroom
Away from the tub there is more choice. Ella lists a 24 and 36 inch wall grab bar in matte black, and an 18 inch grab bar with a storage shelf in brushed nickel, chrome or matte black. The shower trim kits Ella lists are made by other companies and come in polished chrome, brushed nickel and matte black; one is a pressure balancing shower trim with a multi-function showerhead, and another pairs that trim with a slide bar hand shower. A 55 by 39 inch frameless bi-fold tub door is offered in a black finish. These items matter most if you are also adding a shower, because an Ella shower kit ships with the stall, its grab bars and the drain but no mixing valve, valve trim, shower head or hand shower, so the trim finish is a decision you make with your plumber. What Comes in the Box With an Ella Shower Kit, and What You Still Need to Buy lists exactly what to source. Which Ella Fixtures and Hardware Come in a Black Finish? goes deeper on the black options alone.
Settle the Finish Before the Tub Is Built
Faucet finish is chosen at order time, and availability of a given finish changes over time, so confirm the finish you want when you place your order with your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850. The finish should also be settled before your plumber fits the faucet, since an installed faucet cannot be returned for credit. If you are matching a third-party trim kit, have the kit name or model number ready when you call so the team can confirm the finish is current.
