On the Ella Tub4Two, the foot massage jets sit in the single large footwell between the two facing seats, and both bathers use them because that footwell is shared. The current spec sheet lists 4 foot jets and 4 calf jets on their own hydro pump, plus 6 air jets in the foot area, so the foot massage runs without filling the rest of the tub. The complete set of model figures is in Ella Tub4Two 32x60: The Two-Seat Tub That Fits a Standard 60 Inch Opening.
How the Tub4Two Footwell Is Laid Out
The Tub4Two measures 32 inches wide by 60 inches long by 40 inches tall on the outside. Inside, two molded seats of 20 and 22 inches face each other along the length of the tub. The comparison chart puts each seat at 12 1/8 inches long and the interior length at 56 3/4 inches, which leaves the middle of the tub as one open footwell, and the drop from the seat down to the footwell floor is 17 inches. The product video describes this as a large footwell built to accommodate both bathers, so when two people sit down, their feet and calves rest in the same space and are reached by the same jets.
That is a different arrangement from a single-seat tub, where the footwell sits at one end and the jets aim at one pair of feet. On the Tub4Two, the foot and calf jets are placed around the shared well, and the video says both bathers can enjoy the foot and calf massage along with the hip, back and bidet jets at their own seat. The spec sheet does not print a per-seat split for the 4 foot and 4 calf jets, so think of them as one set serving the whole footwell rather than two separate groups, one per bather.
What the Spec Sheet Lists for Each Jet Circuit
The Tub4Two ships with three jet systems, and the figures below come from the current spec sheet dated 04/01/26.
- Seat hydro massage: a 9 amp, 1250 watt pump feeding 18 upper seat jets, 9 on each seat, with an intensity dial and control from the digital controller.
- Foot and calf hydro massage: a separate 7 amp, 1000 watt pump feeding 4 foot jets and 4 calf jets, with its own intensity dial, an on and off push control, a 6 amp, 800 watt in-line water heater and 0.04 amp ozone sterilization.
- Air massage: a 4.5 amp, 500 watt three-speed pump feeding 12 seat jets, 6 on each seat, and 6 foot jets, with Auto Purge and control from the digital controller.
- LED chromatherapy: a 0.5 amp multicolor light with a transformer, run from the digital control pad.
So the footwell carries two kinds of jets. The 4 foot and 4 calf hydro jets push warmed, recirculating bath water, and the 6 air foot jets add the softer bubbling of the air massage. The seat jets, by contrast, are split evenly, with 9 hydro and 6 air jets at each seat, which is how the sheet guarantees each bather the same back and hip massage. The brochure callout diagram for the two-seat family, drawn on a Big4Two with Air plus Hydro, labels 4 foot hydro jets for each seat, but that diagram describes the Big4Two, and the brochure itself notes that jet counts vary by model and therapy option. Do not carry its per-seat count over to the Tub4Two; quote the Tub4Two sheet instead.
Why the Foot Massage Is Independent
Both product videos make the same point: there is a secondary pump dedicated just to the foot massage, so there is no need to fill the entire tub to enjoy a hydro foot massage. You can sit on either seat, or use the tub alone, and run the foot jets with only the footwell filled. The in-line heater is on this foot circuit, so the water in the footwell is held at the temperature you filled it while the pump runs, and the ozone sterilization works alongside it to keep the water sanitary.
The foot system has its own push button and its own intensity dial rather than living on the digital controller. Turning the dial up introduces more air into the jet stream for a stronger flow, and turning it down makes the flow gentler, without changing anything at the seat jets. The seat hydro, the three-speed air massage and the LED chromatherapy light all run from the digital controller. The videos also show the door: the Tub4Two closes with the outward-swinging U-shaped door and its three-latch gear and shaft lock, so the footwell fill and the foot massage happen with that door latched.
Because the foot circuit is separate, its jets must be under water before the pump starts. For a foot-only soak, close the door, close both drains and fill the footwell until every foot and calf jet is covered. For a full massage with both hydro pumps running, fill the tub above the highest seat jets. The two-seat troubleshooting guide asks, as its very first question when one side loses foot massage, whether the water is above that side's foot jets, which tells you how much the fill level matters.
What Both Bathers Get and What They Share
The two-seat video tour explains that a true two-seat tub gives each seat its own jets and its own share of the systems, so both bathers get the same back massage and the same air jets. On the Tub4Two that holds for the seats, with 9 hydro and 6 air jets on each side. The footwell is the one area the two bathers share, because the seats face each other and both pairs of feet rest in the same well. Once the footwell is filled and the foot pump is running, both bathers feel the foot and calf jets at the same time.
The tour also notes that a two-seat tub is exceptionally comfortable for one person, since you can kick your feet up on the other seat like a recliner. On the Tub4Two that means a solo bather can stretch out and still have the foot and calf jets in reach in the footwell, with the whole tub to themselves.
Checking the Foot Jets on Your Own Tub
- Fill the footwell until the foot and calf jets are covered, then press the foot push button and turn the foot intensity dial up. The 4 foot and 4 calf hydro jets should all run from the one foot pump.
- Start the air massage from the digital controller and look for the 6 air foot jets bubbling in the footwell alongside the 6 air jets at each seat.
- Remember that Auto Purge starts automatically about 20 minutes after the air pump is turned off and runs for 120 seconds to blow residual water out of the air lines. Bubbling in the footwell after the bath is normal and cannot be stopped.
- If the foot jets on one side seem weak or silent while everything else works, follow the two-seat troubleshooting guide, which starts with the water level and then isolates that side's pump, button, dial and cord.
Ella does not send technicians. If a part on the foot circuit is verified faulty, the replacement ships under the parts warranty and a local licensed plumber or electrician does the labor. Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850 with your model, your serial number and a note of which jets are affected. The product video shows the independent foot massage in use and describes the secondary pump dedicated to the foot jets, which is the quickest way to see how the shared footwell works before your tub arrives.
